Blast from the three port brake is severe and goes sideways. A great many public ranges either ban large bore rifles or restrict them to a dedicated bay, so a phone call before you load a 23 pound rifle into the truck is worth making.

50 BMG came to civilian shooters from the military, and the ammunition market has never fully civilianised. Match grade loads come from a small group of manufacturers at a real price per round, while surplus and steel case is affordable and inconsistent enough that lot variation will show on paper before the rifle does. The 13.75 inch rail is shorter than the ones on the semi automatic Barretts, so check eye relief before you commit to a mount. Its 27 MOA of built in cant is there so an optic with generous internal elevation still has travel left at distance, and choosing a scope that cannot use it wastes the feature entirely.
