Description
The Taurus G3 10 Round is the ten-shot configuration of Taurus’s full-size striker-fired 9mm: a four-inch stainless barrel, a Tenifer-and-Cerakote steel slide, a black polymer frame with an accessory rail, and a manual thumb safety.
Nothing about the gun is shrunk to get to ten rounds. The Taurus G3 10 Round has the same full-size frame, the same four-inch barrel and the same grip length as its higher-capacity siblings — only the magazine differs. That matters, because grip length is what determines whether a pistol shoots well, and it is usually the first thing sacrificed to meet a magazine limit.
What is in the pistol
- A four-inch matte stainless barrel in a serrated steel slide finished in Tenifer under Cerakote — a nitriding treatment with a coating on top, which is a more durable combination than either alone.
- A black polymer frame with a Picatinny rail moulded into the dust cover.
- A manual thumb safety on the left side of the frame, in addition to the trigger-blade and striker-block safeties.
- Second-strike capability: if a round does not fire, pulling the trigger again re-cocks and drops the striker on the Taurus G3 10 Round rather than requiring you to rack the slide.
- Memory pads and stippled texture on the grip, with a squared trigger guard.

Why a full-size gun with ten rounds
- On the Taurus G3 10 Round, the limit is about the magazine, not the gun. Buying a subcompact to comply gives up grip and barrel for nothing.
- A four-inch barrel gives you the velocity the ammunition makers quote, which a three-inch one does not.
- The full grip means all three fingers on the gun and a longer sight radius — the two things that most improve practical accuracy.
- The Taurus G3 10 Round takes the same holsters as the fifteen- and seventeen-round versions, so nothing else in your kit changes if you move states.
- Two magazines are included.

9mm Luger is standardised by SAAMI and produced in greater volume than any other centre-fire handgun cartridge, which is why it costs what it does. A four-inch barrel is the length most factory ballistics are measured from, so what you read on the box is close to what this pistol actually delivers.
If your state has no magazine limit, MAG5 stocks the same pistol as the fifteen-round G3 in black, the stainless-slide G3 and the seventeen-round G3 in OD Green. For something smaller to carry, look at the GX4 Carry or the GX2 Compact.
Why the Taurus G3 10 Round earns its place
- The Taurus G3 10 Round is a full-size pistol that meets a ten-round limit without shrinking anything that matters.
- Second-strike capability, which almost no striker-fired pistol offers.
- A manual safety for those who want one, without giving up the striker trigger.
- Tenifer under Cerakote on the slide, at a price where a single painted finish is normal.
- Two magazines and a rail included.
This is a home-defence pistol, a range gun and a first full-size 9mm, and it is the obvious choice for anyone in a ten-round jurisdiction who refuses to buy a smaller gun to get there. The trigger is decent rather than exceptional and the sights are plain — the Taurus G3 10 Round competes on value, and it competes hard.
