Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round striker fired pistol

The Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round is the compact that became the default answer to the question of which handgun to buy, supplied here with ten round magazines for capacity restricted states. Shortening the G17 by roughly half an inch in both barrel and grip produced a pistol small enough to conceal and large enough to shoot properly, and that balance is why the 19 outsells everything else Glock makes.

Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round Barrel, Slide and Frame

The 4.02 inch barrel is a Glock Marksman Barrel, using the enhanced polygonal rifling and tighter crown Glock introduced with Gen5. The half inch it gives up to the full size G17 costs almost nothing in velocity and very little in sight radius, while the shorter slide makes the pistol noticeably easier to clear a holster and conceal under a garment.

The slide wears Glock’s nDLC surface treatment, a diamond like carbon coating applied to both slide and barrel that resists corrosion and abrasion far better than the older Tenifer process it replaced. Front serrations are cut alongside the rear ones so the slide can be worked from either end for a press check. The frame carries no finger grooves, which sounds like a small thing until a shooter with hands that do not match the mold tries the older design, and a flared magazine well funnels magazines in under stress.

What the V Series changed on the Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round

Glock sells this one as the V Series, and both Sports South and Zanders list it under Glock part number PV1950201 as the G19 V. From the outside almost nothing has moved: grip texture, controls, ergonomics and trigger feel carry across from the Gen5, existing holsters still fit, and the shooting experience is the one Glock owners already know. The changes Glock describes are internal rather than anything you handle.

One consequence matters when buying parts, and we would rather be cautious than confident about it. Magazines and most external accessories carry across from the Gen5, but we would not assume V Series internals interchange with Gen3, Gen4 or Gen5 slide and trigger components. If you are planning modifications, ask us to confirm V Series fitment on the specific part before you order it rather than finding out at the bench.

Safe Action and controls on the Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round

Underneath sits the Safe Action system Glock has used since 1982: three passive, independently operating mechanical safeties that disengage in sequence as the trigger is pressed and reset automatically when it is released. There is no manual safety lever to remember and no decocker, which is a large part of why the platform dominates duty holsters. The slide stop lever is ambidextrous and the magazine catch is reversible, so left handed shooters are accommodated without aftermarket parts.

Why Buyers Choose the Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round

The G19 sits at the point where concealability and shootability cross. It hides under a shirt in a way a full size gun does not, yet the grip is long enough for a full firing grip for most hands rather than the two and a half fingers a subcompact allows. That combination is why it is the most copied handgun size in the industry and why holster makers support it before anything else.

The other reason is the ecosystem. No other handgun platform has the depth of holsters, sights, magazines and parts that Glock does, and buying into it means never hunting for support. Armorers everywhere know the design, and the manual of arms transfers to every other pistol in the line.

Three magazines with the Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round, and what the limit means

Zanders records three magazines in the box, which is Glock’s long standing practice and still unusual elsewhere. This particular listing is the ten round version, built for capacity restricted states. If you are not in one, the same pistol in fifteen round form is the Glock 19 Gen 6, and it takes the full size magazines: the Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 is the one we stock deepest, with the Amend2 A2-19 Mod 3 and Glock factory magazines as the alternatives. Check your own state law before ordering anything over ten rounds. The Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round itself ships with magazines that are legal everywhere we can send it.

Ammunition and the other ten round Glocks we stock

For carry, Federal 147 grain HST is the load with the longest record behind it. For practice, CCI Blazer Brass 115 grain FMJ keeps the cost down. If you want the newer generation in the same ten round format, we stock the Glock 19 Gen6 at 10 rounds and the Glock 17 Gen6 at 10 rounds.

Who should buy the Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round

The Glock 19 V 9mm 10 Round suits the concealed carrier who wants one pistol that also works at the range, the shooter in a capacity restricted state who refuses to give up grip length, and the buyer looking for the single most broadly supported handgun size on the market.
