Description

Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round striker fired pistol

The Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round is the most popular handgun size in the world rebuilt as a Gen6, supplied here with ten round magazines for capacity restricted states. This is the first real ergonomic overhaul the compact Glock has had since Gen5 arrived in 2017, and most of the changes address the complaints owners used to fix with aftermarket work.

Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round Optic Ready System

The headline change on Gen6 is how optics mount. Glock has dropped the adapter plates the MOS system relied on and machined the slide so a red dot bolts down directly, with screw threads compatible with the Trijicon RMR and SRO, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and C-More footprints. Removing the plate removes a stack of tolerances, a second set of screws to check and a few millimeters of height, so the dot sits lower and there is one less thing to work loose under recoil.

On a compact slide the plate free mounting matters more than it does on a full size gun. There is less slide to work with, so every millimeter of optic height counts toward whether the dot sits low enough to find quickly and whether the irons remain visible underneath it. Removing the adapter plate buys back exactly that height.

Grip, trigger and slide changes on the Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round

Gen6 introduces a flat faced trigger as standard, and shortens the distance from the backstrap to the trigger face to 68 mm, roughly two millimeters less than Gen5. That sounds trivial and is not: shooters with shorter fingers reach the trigger more squarely, and a flat shoe makes it easier to feel where the finger sits on every press.

The grip is where the rest of the work went. Glock added subtle palm swells to each side, scalloped thumb ledges ahead of the trigger guard for a higher, more locked in grip, and a new RTF-6 texture that covers more of the frame than the RTF-2 and RTF-4 patterns before it. Front and rear slide serrations are milled deeper as well, which matters most with wet or gloved hands.

Barrel, safety and ambidextrous controls

The barrel is the Glock Marksman Barrel carried over from Gen5, using an enhanced polygonal rifling profile and a tighter crown than the older design. Underneath, the Safe Action system is unchanged: three passive, independently operating mechanical safeties that disengage in sequence as the trigger is pressed and reset automatically when it is released. There is no manual safety lever and no decocker.

Why Buyers Choose the Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round

The G19 has always been the size that most people settle on, and Gen6 fixes the things they used to change afterwards. Palm swells, thumb ledges, a flat trigger set two millimeters closer to the backstrap and a deeper grip texture were all stipple shop jobs a year ago. Getting them from the factory, alongside optic mounting that needs no plate, removes most of the reasons to modify the pistol at all.

It is also worth knowing what Gen6 is not. It is a separate line from the V Series, which is Glock’s other current platform and which changed internal parts rather than ergonomics. The two are not the same pistol with a different label, and parts do not freely interchange between generations, so confirm fitment before ordering components.

Magazines for the Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round, and what the ten round limit means

This listing is the ten round version, built for capacity restricted states. If you are not in one, the same pistol is sold as the standard Glock 19 Gen 6 and takes fifteen round magazines: the Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 is the one we stock deepest, the Amend2 A2-19 Mod 3 is the cheaper alternative, and Glock factory magazines and the ETS Omega both fit the 17 and the 19. Check your own state law before ordering anything over ten rounds. The Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round itself ships with magazines that are legal everywhere we can send it.

Ammunition and the other Gen6 pistols we stock

For carry, Federal 147 grain HST is the load with the longest record behind it. For practice, CCI Blazer Brass 115 grain FMJ keeps the round count up. If you want the full size frame, the Glock 17 Gen6 in ten round form is the same generation of changes on a longer slide.

Who should buy the Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round

The Glock 19 Gen6 9mm 10 Round suits the concealed carrier who wants a red dot mounted as low as the platform allows, the shooter whose hand never quite fitted a Gen5 frame, and the buyer in a capacity restricted state who wants current ergonomics rather than a smaller gun.
