Description

The Tippmann Arms M4-22 Elite Black is the restricted state configuration of Tippmann’s flagship .22 LR AR-15. It pairs a fixed CAR15 stock and a non-threaded 16 inch barrel with a ten round magazine, while keeping the aluminum receivers and M-LOK handguard that define the Elite series.
Elite Construction, Compliant Configuration
Three things separate this from the standard Elite: the stock is fixed rather than adjustable, the muzzle is left unthreaded, and it ships with a ten round magazine. Nothing else has been downgraded to hit the compliance requirement.
The upper and lower are aluminum and mil-spec compatible, which means AR-15 grips, optics and sights fit directly and the manual of arms matches a centrefire carbine exactly. That is the whole point of a rimfire trainer.
Tippmann Arms M4-22 Elite Black Barrel and Handguard
The barrel measures 16 inches with a black parkerized finish and is not threaded on this variant. Sixteen inches gives .22 LR every bit of velocity the cartridge can produce and a long enough sight radius to shoot well with irons.
The free float M-LOK handguard mounts bipods, lights and hand stops directly, with no bolt-on rail sections to add bulk or sharp edges. The receiver carries a full length Picatinny rail on the flat top for optics.
Furniture and Capacity
The fixed CAR15 polymer stock sets a standard length of pull that suits most adult shooters and removes one more thing to adjust or loosen. The Tippmann Gen2 grip is a standard AR-15 interface, so it swaps for anything you already like.
Capacity is 10+1 from the supplied magazine. Tippmann sells short ten round and pinned fifteen round magazines so you can add spares that stay legal where you live.
Sights and Optics
The full length Picatinny rail on the flat top receiver takes any AR pattern mount, so a red dot, a low power variable or a rimfire scope all bolt on without an adapter. Flip-up back-up irons also fit if you want a co-witnessed setup.

Ammunition and Accuracy
Blowback rimfire actions want copper plated high velocity ammunition rather than the cheapest bulk lead round nose. CCI Mini-Mag, Federal Automatch and similar loads cycle consistently and group noticeably tighter, and the difference is obvious by 50 yards. With decent ammunition and a red dot most shooters stay on a soda can well beyond that.
Training Value
Round count is the real argument for a rimfire AR. Five hundred rounds of .22 costs less than one box of match centrefire ammunition, so reloads, malfunction drills and position work stop being something you ration and start being something you actually practise.
Why Buyers Choose the Tippmann Arms M4-22 Elite Black
The Tippmann Arms M4-22 Elite Black gives shooters in restricted states a real aluminum rimfire AR instead of a polymer imitation, with the same receivers and handguard as the unrestricted model.
Who Should Buy It
Shooters facing magazine, stock or muzzle restrictions who still want AR training at rimfire prices, and anyone who simply prefers a fixed stock. It doubles as a capable small game and pest rifle around a property.
Be realistic about the limits. Rimfire semi-autos are ammunition sensitive, the barrel is not threaded so a suppressor is not an option on this variant, and no optic or sights are included.
Compliant spare magazines and a Tippmann speed loader are listed alongside the rest of our firearms selection. Manufacturer documentation is available from Tippmann Arms.
Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred there after a background check. Please confirm your state and local rules before ordering.
