Description
The Taurus GX2 OD Green is the olive-framed version of Taurus’s compact 9mm: thirteen rounds, a 3.37-inch stainless barrel, a matte black stainless slide, an accessory rail and two magazines.
OD green is the least showy of the coloured GX2 frames and, for a lot of buyers, the most wearable. It reads as equipment rather than decoration, it hides handling marks far better than black, and it makes the Taurus GX2 OD Green easy to pick out of a safe without announcing itself. Everything under the colour is the standard GX2.
What you get
- The Taurus GX2 OD Green holds thirteen rounds plus one in a flush-fitting magazine, with two magazines in the box.
- A 3.37-inch matte stainless barrel inside a matte black serrated stainless slide.
- An OD green polymer frame with the colour pigmented through the material, not sprayed on top of it — a scratch shows more green rather than grey plastic.
- A Picatinny rail moulded into the dust cover for a light or a laser.
- Aggressive stippling on both grip panels, the front strap and the backstrap, so the Taurus GX2 OD Green stays put in a wet hand.

What the GX2 is and is not
- It is a budget striker-fired compact that concentrates on the things people actually use: a full grip, a rail, stainless steel under the finish, and two magazines.
- There is no optic cut on this model. If a red dot is part of the plan, the GX2 TORO is the version to buy.
- The trigger is serviceable rather than refined, and the sights are plain black and fixed. Neither is a surprise at this price.
- A full-length grip on a compact slide is the combination that shoots well and still conceals — the Taurus GX2 OD Green does not ask you to trade one for the other.
- Thirteen rounds is the standard capacity; ten-round versions of the same frame exist for states that need them.

9mm Luger is standardised by SAAMI, built to the same drawing by every major maker and produced in greater volume than any other centre-fire handgun cartridge. That is why it is cheap, and why an inexpensive pistol chambered for it is the sensible first buy: the savings go into range time, which is what actually produces a competent shooter.
Other GX2 frame colours in stock: grey, tan, cyan, dark purple and plain black. For an optic cut, the GX2 TORO; for a smaller gun in OD green, the GX4 micro.
Why the Taurus GX2 OD Green earns its place
- The Taurus GX2 OD Green puts thirteen rounds in a compact that still conceals under a shirt.
- A full-length grip, which is what makes a small 9mm shootable rather than merely carryable.
- Colour moulded through the frame, so it ages without chipping.
- Stainless steel under the finish on both barrel and slide.
- Two magazines and a rail included, at a price where neither is guaranteed.
This is a first pistol, a household pistol and a sensible carry gun — and OD green is the colour to choose if you want something other than black without wanting to be looked at. The trigger is honest rather than fine and the sights are plain; the Taurus GX2 OD Green is straightforward about what it is and priced to match.
