Description
The Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round is the mint-framed, ten-shot version of Taurus’s compact striker-fired 9mm: a 3.37-inch stainless barrel, a matte black stainless slide, a cyan polymer frame with an accessory rail, and two magazines in the box.
Colour on a handgun divides people, and it should not. A cyan frame is easier to identify in a drawer or a safe under stress, harder to mistake for someone else’s gun at a range, and — the part nobody says out loud — pleasant to own, which is a real reason people shoot more. The Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round is mechanically identical to the black one; the frame polymer is simply pigmented all the way through rather than painted.
Why the colour is moulded, not coated
- The cyan is in the polymer itself. Scratch the frame and the material underneath is the same colour, so the gun does not develop the scuffed, chipped look that a sprayed finish gets.
- That also means the colour cannot rub off on a holster, a bag lining or a shirt.
- Only the frame is coloured. The slide on the Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round is matte black stainless steel, and the barrel underneath it is matte stainless.
- Texture is moulded in at the same time — aggressive stippling on both grip panels, the front strap and the backstrap.
- A Picatinny rail runs under the dust cover for a weapon light or a laser.

The ten-round question
- On the Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round, ten rounds is a magazine limit, not a size limit. The frame, the grip and the magazine body are the same as the thirteen-round GX2 — only the follower and the count change.
- So you keep a full three-finger grip. This is not a cut-down subcompact pretending to be a service pistol.
- If your state has no limit, the thirteen-round GX2 is the same gun at the same price and worth buying instead.
- Two magazines ship with the Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round, which is more than several pistols at twice the money manage.

9mm Luger is the most heavily standardised handgun cartridge there is — dimensions and pressure ceiling published by SAAMI, built to the same drawing by every major maker, and made in enormous volume. That is why it is cheap, and why a pistol at this price is a sensible first centre-fire handgun: the savings go into range time, which is the only thing that actually produces a competent shooter.
The GX2 comes in a long list of frame colours, all in stock: cyan with thirteen rounds, cyan with a stainless slide, tan, grey and the plain black GX2. If you want to mount a red dot, the GX2 TORO is the optic-cut version.
Why the Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round earns its place
- The Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round puts a full-length grip on a compact slide, which is the combination that shoots well and still hides.
- Colour moulded through the frame rather than sprayed on top of it.
- Stainless steel under the finish on both slide and barrel.
- A rail, which plenty of pistols at this price still leave off.
- Two magazines included, and cheap enough that the ammunition budget survives.
This is a first pistol, a household pistol, a range gun, and a sensible choice for anyone in a ten-round jurisdiction who does not want to trade grip length for legality. The trigger is serviceable rather than refined and the sights are plain black — the Taurus GX2 Cyan 10 Round is not pretending to be a competition gun. It is an honest, inexpensive, well-shaped 9mm in a colour that will not be mistaken for anyone else’s.
