Description
The North American Arms Wasp 22 WMR takes NAA’s smallest magnum frame and dresses it up with a vented rib barrel and a fluted, stylized cylinder. At 6.2 ounces and 4.63 inches long, it is a true pocket revolver with five rounds of .22 Magnum on board.

North American Arms Wasp 22 WMR Overview
NAA catalogs this gun as the 22MS-TW. The 1-1/8 inch barrel wears a short vented rib with a half-moon front sight, and the cylinder has decorative grooves that set the Wasp apart from the plain 22MS. This listing is the stainless model with a black rubber pebbled bird’s head grip, which gives a little more traction than smooth wood. Note that NAA’s own spec table for this item lists a rosewood grip while its photos and feature list show the black rubber grip, so check the gun at pickup if the grip material matters to you.
Built for the Pocket
Everything about the Wasp is about size. It is shorter than most smartphones, and it weighs less than a full magazine for many carry pistols. In a proper pocket holster it prints as little more than a wallet. That makes it a popular backup gun and an easy one to carry when nothing else is practical.

Single Action Carry
Like every NAA mini revolver, it is single action only: you cock the hammer for each shot and the spur trigger drops into place. For carry, NAA provides safety notches between the chambers so the hammer can rest between cartridges rather than on a live rim. Learn the half-cock and rest-notch procedure from the manual before you carry it. The short barrel and tiny grip make fast, accurate shooting difficult, so practice at realistic distances of three to seven yards.
Magnum Performance From a Short Barrel
A 1-1/8 inch barrel gives up a lot of the velocity that makes .22 Magnum attractive from a rifle, and it produces a loud report and a big muzzle flash. Choose ammunition designed for short barrels, such as CCI Uppercut or Speer Gold Dot short-barrel loads, and test penetration expectations honestly. Rimfire cartridges are inherently less reliable than centerfire rounds, so an occasional dud is normal; in a revolver you simply cock the hammer again to bring a fresh chamber under it.

Reloading and Capacity
To reload, you press the cylinder pin release, remove the pin and cylinder, push out the empties and reload one chamber at a time. That takes time, which is why many owners treat a mini revolver as a last-ditch or backup gun rather than a primary defensive handgun.
Holsters and Grips
Carry it in a pocket holster that covers the spur trigger; a bare mini revolver should never ride loose in a pocket. NAA offers a folding holster grip and larger rubber grips that fit this frame, and many shooters find a bigger grip improves control considerably.
State Laws and Ownership
Mini revolvers are legal in most states, but a few jurisdictions add their own hurdles. California and Massachusetts only allow sales of models on their approved handgun rosters, and several states require a purchase permit or firearm ID card first. Pennsylvania buyers complete a PICS check at the receiving dealer. Carry rules also differ widely, so confirm your state and local laws, including permit reciprocity, before you carry it.
