Description
The Holosun SCS-VP9 Green Solar Sight is a solar-charged pistol optic built to mount directly on Heckler and Koch VP9 optics-ready slides with no adapter plate. It runs a green Multi-Reticle System and recharges from light, so you never shop for coin cells.
Holosun SCS-VP9 Green Solar Sight Overview
Holosun’s Solar Charging Sight uses a panel on top to charge a built-in cell, with a rated reserve of up to 20,000 hours. The housing is anodized 7075-T6 aluminum weighing 1.35 ounces, with a compact 0.77 by 0.58 inch window. Windage and elevation adjust 1 MOA per click across plus or minus 50 MOA, finer than most pistol optics, and the sight is rated for 5000G of slide vibration.
Direct Fit for VP9 OR
The SCS-VP9 is shaped and drilled to match all HK VP9 OR models, so it bolts directly to the slide. No plate means the optic sits lower and there is one less joint that can shift or loosen. Holosun includes the correct screws. Confirm your VP9 is an OR model before ordering, since standard slides are not cut for an optic.
Green Circle-Dot
The MRS switches between a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle and the circle-dot combination. The circle-dot is quick for defensive shooting because the ring catches your eye during the draw. The dot alone is best for small targets and zeroing. The 540nm green LED is very visible in daylight and many shooters with astigmatism see green more crisply.
Automatic Brightness
Light sensors set the reticle brightness automatically. There is no manual brightness menu, but you can lock the reticle at maximum for 30 minutes for bright sun or transitions. Shake Awake turns it off when the pistol is still, and a low-battery warning tells you when the cell needs light.
Solar Living
A pistol kept in a dark safe slowly uses its reserve, so give it some light now and then. Holosun describes the cell as non-removable, which means no battery changes and also no swapping power in the field. A gun carried daily or kept near a window will stay charged with no effort.
Open Emitter Notes
The SCS is an open-emitter optic, so lint, rain or debris on the LED can block the dot. Check the emitter during cleaning, especially on a carry gun. The compact window rewards consistent presentation, so practice your draw. We show Holosun’s official photo of this exact VP9 version and the distributor image only, rather than photos of other SCS variants.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
