Description
The Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot is the 407C in green: a single 2 MOA dot at 540nm, the RMR footprint, solar failsafe behind the battery, and 50 MOA of adjustment travel in each direction. No circle, no reticle menu. Part HE407C-GR-X2.

Green On A Fine Reticle Matters More
Human daylight vision peaks almost exactly at 540nm, so the green emitter in the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot reads brighter to your eye than a red one producing the same actual light. That is true on any sight. It matters more here than usual because of the dot size.
The 2 MOA dot on the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot has very little area to be seen with. It needs to be crisp rather than merely bright, and the way people ruin a fine dot is by pushing a dim emitter hard until it blooms into a starburst. Green gets to the brightness you need with headroom to spare, so the dot stays round instead of growing spikes. On a 6 MOA sight the colour is a preference; on a 2 MOA sight it is closer to engineering.
The Honest Counter Argument
Green on the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot is not a free upgrade and we would rather you hear the other half from us. Against grass, foliage and green painted steel, green loses contrast and red would serve you better. Red emitters are also more electrically efficient for a given perceived brightness.
So the question is not which colour wins, it is what you point the pistol at. Brick, rust, timber, brown clothing, dirt: the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot is the right answer. Grass, green steel, a manicured range: the red 407C is, and we stock it.
Fifty MOA Of Travel
Adjustment range on the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot is 50 MOA in each direction, where several optics further down the Holosun line give you 30. Nobody advertises this figure and it is the one that decides whether a sight can be zeroed on your particular pistol.
Slide cuts are not perfect and adapter plates stack tolerances on top of them. Put a short travel optic on a gun that already points slightly off and you can run out of adjustment before you run out of error, leaving you with a sight that will not zero and no obvious explanation. Fifty MOA of headroom is insurance, and it is why this is the safer buy when you are mounting through a plate rather than into a native cut.
No Circle, And Why That Is A Choice
The 507C sitting next to the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot adds a 32 MOA ring you can switch on. Everything else about the two is close to identical: same window, same housing, same footprint, same ratings, same weight.
So the decision is just the circle, and it is worth making deliberately rather than paying up by reflex. A ring helps enormously while you are still learning to find the dot on the draw, because a large circle is far easier for the eye to catch than a small dot. Once that presentation is habit, the ring is simply something in the window, and plenty of experienced shooters switch it off permanently. If that is you, the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot saves you money for a sight picture you prefer anyway.
Solar Failsafe And Lock Mode
A panel on top of the Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot harvests ambient light and will run the sight on its own if the CR1632 dies or is removed entirely. The cell is rated 50,000 hours at brightness setting six, and Shake Awake sleeps the optic whenever the pistol sits still, so that number describes far more calendar time than continuous running would.
The Holosun HE407C X2 Green Dot tray loads from the side, so a battery change never means unbolting the sight, never disturbs the mounting screws, and never puts your zero in question. Lock mode disables the buttons so a holster, a seatbelt or a car seat cannot quietly change your brightness between range trips.

Ordering
Manufacturer specifications are published at Holosun. We are a family owned FFL dealer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and if you are newer to pistol optics we will tell you the 507C with its ring is probably the better first sight even though it costs more. The rest of our optics selection is here to compare.
