Description

The Glock 19X V 9mm is the coyote-finished crossover: a full-length G17 frame carrying the shorter G19 slide, in coyote brown polymer with a coyote nPVD slide over it. It is the configuration the US Army trials made famous and the one a lot of people have wanted in a plain, hard-wearing finish ever since.

Full grip, short slide, ambidextrous controls and a 4.02-inch Glock Marksman Barrel.

Part number UV1950703X, UPC 764503068461. Very deep stock.

What the Glock 19X V 9mm is

  • 9mm Luger crossover – G17 frame length, G19 slide length
  • 4.02-inch black Glock Marksman Barrel
  • Coyote nPVD finished steel slide with serrations
  • Coyote brown polymer frame
  • Textured polymer grip
  • Ambidextrous controls
  • 17+1 with the standard flush magazine

Capacity, stated plainly

  • Sports South list the Glock 19X V 9mm as 17+1, which is the flush-fit magazine that sits level with the bottom of the grip
  • Because the frame is full length, it takes any Glock 9mm magazine – 17, 19, 24 and 33 round magazines all fit and all sit correctly
  • The 19-round extended magazines the 19X is associated with are the ones that make the grip and the magazine finish flush at the same length
  • If the exact magazines supplied in the box matter to you, ask us before you order and we will confirm with the distributor rather than guess
  • This is one of those places where catalogue copy and reality often disagree, so we would rather state the number we can verify

Why the crossover layout suits so many people

The Glock 19X V 9mm grip is the part of the pistol you actually control it with. A full-length frame gives you all three fingers and a proper purchase, and that does far more for how you shoot than an extra inch of slide ever will. The shorter slide is what you notice drawing from a holster and moving in and out of a vehicle.

The cost is concealment at the bottom of the gun. A full-length grip is the part that prints through a shirt, so if deep concealment is the priority a standard G19 is the better answer. For open carry, a duty rig or under a jacket, the crossover is hard to fault.

The coyote finish

The frame polymer is coyote brown all the way through, so a scratch does not reveal black underneath. The slide is coyote nPVD, which is a hard physical-vapour-deposition coating on steel rather than a paint – it wears at the sharp edges eventually, as every slide finish does, and it resists corrosion well in the meantime.

One honest note on colour: coyote is a family of shades rather than one colour, and photographs of it vary a great deal with lighting. Expect a brown with a slight green cast rather than the orange-tan some images suggest.

Ammunition and the rest of the range

9mm Luger is standardised by SAAMI, and a 4.02-inch barrel sits in the middle of the range defensive loads are tested around, so published velocities apply. For the current generation, see the Glock 19 Gen 6, the Glock 45 Gen 6 – which is the same crossover idea with an optic cut – and the full-size Glock 17 Gen 6.

Why the Glock 19X V 9mm earns its place

  • Full-size grip with a compact slide, which is the combination most shooters handle best
  • The Glock 19X V 9mm is coyote through the frame polymer, not a coating that scratches off
  • Ambidextrous controls, which matter more than people expect for one-handed manipulation
  • The largest holster, magazine and parts ecosystem of any handgun made
  • Very deep stock, so no waiting

Two honest caveats. There is no optic cut on this configuration – if you want a red dot, the Gen 6 guns are cut from the factory and this one would need milling. And the trigger is the standard Safe Action: consistent and reliable rather than crisp.

The grip angle suits some hands and not others, and no amount of reading settles that. If you have shot a Glock you already know.

What is not in question is that the Glock 19X V 9mm will run. That is what the platform is bought for. MAG5 Firearms ships to your FFL.
