Description

Fierce Carbon Rival XP 2.0 7mm PRC bolt action rifle with C3 carbon fiber barrel and Trophy camo carbon fiber stock with adjustable comb

The Fierce Carbon Rival XP 2.0 7mm PRC is a full-carbon long range hunting rifle that weighs a shade over six pounds. It pairs a 22 inch C3 match grade carbon fiber barrel with a C3 carbon fiber Rival XP 2.0 stock in Trophy camo, and Fierce backs the whole package with a half MOA accuracy guarantee.

Fierce Carbon Rival XP 2.0 7mm PRC Barrel and Brake

The barrel is Fierce C3 match grade carbon, a steel core wrapped in carbon fiber, cut to 22 inches with a 1:8 twist for 7mm PRC. Twenty-two inches is the practical length for this cartridge in a hunting rifle: it keeps the velocity that makes 7mm PRC worth chambering while staying maneuverable in timber and in a truck.

The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears the Fierce NIX brake. It is an effective brake on a light rifle in a magnum-class cartridge, and it comes off if you would rather run a suppressor. Carbon wrapping does the same job here as on any Fierce barrel: it holds the barrel stiff and sheds heat faster than steel while removing a meaningful amount of weight from the front of the rifle.

Action, Trigger, and the XP 2.0 Stock

The action is a dual-lug stainless design with a 70 degree bolt throw and a spiral fluted, DLC coated bolt. Seventy degrees leaves plenty of knuckle clearance under a large objective scope, and the DLC coating makes the bolt run smoothly with very little lubrication. The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard bases.

The trigger is a TriggerTech Primary Pro Curved, set at 2.5 pounds from the factory and adjustable between roughly 1.5 and 4 pounds. TriggerTech uses a free-floating roller between the sear and the trigger, which is why the break feels so clean with essentially no creep.

The XP 2.0 stock is where this generation separates itself. It is 100 percent carbon fiber with an integrated ARCA rail and Picatinny section along the forend, a push-button adjustable cheek rest, and an LR negative comb. ARCA means you can slide a bipod or a tripod clamp anywhere along the forend rather than being stuck with one stud position, which matters a lot for shooting off a tripod in open country.

Why Buyers Choose the Fierce Carbon Rival XP 2.0 7mm PRC

7mm PRC has quickly become the default answer for hunters who want 7mm Remington Magnum performance from a modern, efficient case designed around long, high-BC bullets. It shoots flat, carries energy past 700 yards, and does not have the throat erosion reputation of the older belted magnums. Putting it in a 6.3 pound rifle with a half MOA guarantee is a serious combination.

The XP 2.0 stock is the other half of the argument. Most mountain rifles ask you to give up the shooting aids that make long shots repeatable. This one gives you an ARCA rail, an adjustable comb, and a stock stiff enough to hold zero, and it still weighs less than most standard hunting rifles.

Who Should Buy It

Backcountry hunters chasing elk, mule deer, and sheep in open country, and anyone who shoots off a tripod or a bipod at extended range. The adjustable comb also makes it easy to set up properly behind a large scope, which is where a lot of lightweight hunting rifles fall down. If most of your shots come inside 200 yards in timber, a shorter and less expensive rifle will do the job, because this one is built to reach.
