Description

The Bergara B-14 Wilderness HMR 7mm PRC is a precision rifle dressed for the field. It takes Bergara’s HMR mini-chassis stock, wraps the metalwork in Sniper Grey Cerakote, finishes the stock in Wilderness camo with black webbing, and chambers it in one of the best long-range hunting cartridges available.
Bergara made its name building barrels for other manufacturers before it built complete rifles, and every B-14 carries a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
Bergara B-14 Wilderness HMR 7mm PRC Barrel and Brake
The 24-inch barrel is 4140 chrome-moly steel in a No. 6 taper, which is a genuinely heavy profile and a large part of why this rifle holds groups through a long string. The 1:8 twist stabilizes the long, high-BC 7mm bullets that make 7mm PRC worth choosing.
The muzzle threads 5/8-24 and ships with Bergara’s Omni muzzle brake installed. On a nine-and-a-half-pound rifle in 7mm PRC, the brake keeps recoil mild enough to spot your own hits through the scope.
Mini-Chassis Stock and Trigger
The HMR stock is molded around an internal mini-chassis, which gives the action a rigid metal bedding surface without the weight and cost of a full aluminum chassis. It is the feature that made the HMR line popular, and it is why these rifles shoot as consistently as they do.
Both the cheekpiece and the length of pull adjust, so you can build a repeatable cheek weld behind whatever scope you mount. The Bergara Performance trigger is user adjustable and breaks cleanly out of the box.

Why 7mm PRC
7mm PRC was designed around long, heavy 7mm bullets, with a case and throat geometry that lets them seat properly rather than intruding into powder space the way they do in older 7mm magnums. The case is non-belted and headspaces on the shoulder, which feeds more smoothly and handloads more consistently.
Out of a 24-inch barrel a 175 or 180 grain bullet leaves fast and holds velocity remarkably well. For elk, mule deer and open-country hunting, it delivers flatter trajectory and better retained energy than a 7mm Rem Mag at similar recoil.
Why Buyers Choose It
Most rifles at this price come with an injection-molded stock and a barrel bought from the lowest bidder. Bergara makes its own barrels, and the Wilderness HMR pairs one with a mini-chassis stock, an adjustable trigger and a real accuracy guarantee.
The Cerakote and camo are not cosmetic either. Sniper Grey Cerakote is a genuine corrosion barrier, and a heavy precision rifle that can live outdoors in bad weather is more useful than one that has to be babied.
Who Should Buy It
This rifle suits the long-range hunter who shoots from a bipod or a bag, the shooter who wants precision-rifle features in a gun that is still legal and practical to hunt with, and anyone who wants a 7mm PRC that shoots to a guarantee rather than a promise.
