Description
The Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge 7mm PRC is a backcountry bolt gun built for hunters who walk a long way before they ever get a shot. It pairs a 22 inch threaded barrel with a SoftTouch woodland camo synthetic stock and a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish that shrugs off weather. Capacity is 3+1 through a detachable magazine, and an Omni muzzle brake ships in the box to tame the recoil of the 7mm PRC cartridge.
Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge 7mm PRC Barrel and Action
Bergara builds its own 4140 chrome-moly barrels in Bergara, Spain, and that barrel is the reason this rifle carries a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee with quality factory ammunition. The 22 inch tube is a sensible compromise for the 7mm PRC: short enough to carry through timber and get in and out of a truck, long enough to keep the cartridge doing what it was designed to do. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 so the included Omni brake can come off in favor of a suppressor or thread protector.
The B-14 action is a two-lug design with a coned bolt nose and a sliding plate extractor. It feeds smoothly, it is integrally bedded into the stock, and it accepts most Remington 700 pattern scope bases, which makes optics shopping painless. The Bergara Performance trigger breaks cleanly and is user adjustable within a usable range.
Stock, Finish, and Field Handling
The Wilderness Ridge stock is a molded synthetic shell with a SoftTouch coating in woodland camo. The texture is grippy in wet weather and quiet against brush, which matters more than most spec sheets admit. Length of pull sits in the standard range, and the recoil pad soaks up what the brake does not.
The Sniper Grey Cerakote on the barreled action is not just cosmetic. It is a genuinely durable ceramic-based coating that resists salt, sweat, and the kind of scuffing that comes from dragging a rifle through rock and deadfall. On a hunting gun that lives outdoors, that finish is worth real money.

Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge 7mm PRC Optics and Setup
Because the B-14 receiver uses the Remington 700 footprint, mounting glass is straightforward. A 20 MOA rail is worth considering if you intend to stretch the 7mm PRC out past 700 yards, since it buys back elevation travel inside the scope. A 3-15x or 4-16x hunting scope in the 44mm to 50mm objective range keeps the rifle balanced without turning it into a bench gun.
Feeding it is easy as well. Factory 7mm PRC loads in the 175 to 180 grain range are widely available from Hornady, Federal, and others, and most shooters find a load their rifle likes within a box or two. Break the barrel in gently, let it cool between strings while you are load testing, and this rifle will hold up its end of the sub-MOA promise.
Why Buyers Choose It
7mm PRC has become the answer for shooters who wanted 7mm Remington Magnum ballistics out of a modern, efficient, non-belted case designed around long, heavy-for-caliber bullets. It shoots flat, it carries energy well past 500 yards, and it does it without the throat erosion reputation of the older magnums. Put that cartridge in a sub-MOA rifle that weighs what a mountain rifle should weigh and you have a very complete hunting package.
Who Should Buy It
This one is for the elk, mule deer, and open-country hunter who wants one rifle that can reach across a canyon and still be carried all day. It also works well for the shooter who plans to run a suppressor, since the threads and the shorter barrel keep overall length reasonable once a can is mounted. If you mostly shoot from a bench and never leave the range, a heavier target profile rifle will serve you better, but for hunting this is hard to beat at the price.
