Description
The Bergara BMR-X Carbon 22 LR is a rimfire bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 LR that brings the feel of Bergara’s full-size precision rifles to an affordable rimfire. This configuration (Bergara model BMR008, UPC 043125110162) has an 18-inch No. 6 carbon fiber barrel, a tan BMR-X stock and both 5-round and 10-round magazines, and it weighs about 5.7 pounds.
Bergara BMR-X Carbon 22 LR Overview
The BMR-X Carbon is built for small-game hunters and rimfire shooters who want precision without the weight. Its carbon fiber barrel stays stiff while trimming ounces, so the rifle carries easily through squirrel woods and rabbit thickets. The Bergara BMR-X Carbon 22 LR runs on the Bergara Micro Rimfire action with a match chamber cut to tight tolerances for excellent accuracy.
BXR-Inspired Adjustable Stock
The stock borrows its ergonomics from Bergara’s BXR. Length of pull is adjustable, a vertical grip reduces torque from your firing hand, and a flat fore-end sits squarely on bags and barricades to cut down on canting. The result is a rimfire precision rifle that feels like a serious centerfire rig at a fraction of the cost.
Match Chamber and Performance Trigger
The match chamber holds cartridges consistently for tight groups, and the Bergara Performance Trigger is an adjustable trigger that tunes externally with a single screw, so you can set your preferred pull weight without a gunsmith. A 30 MOA rail comes installed for extra elevation travel when you stretch the rifle out to longer distances.
Affordable .22 LR Practice
The .22 LR is the most affordable and widely available cartridge in the world, which means more practice for less money. It is quiet, recoil-free and perfect for squirrels, rabbits, steel targets and NRL22 matches, and the 1:16 twist suits standard and match-grade 40 grain loads.
Practice Tips
Rimfire accuracy depends heavily on ammunition, so test a few brands to find what this barrel likes. Mount a scope with a mil or MOA reticle that matches your centerfire optic, then practice holds and wind calls at 50 and 100 yards. Shooting from bags, a tripod and field positions builds skills that carry straight over to hunting season.
Care and Cleaning
Rimfire ammunition is dirtier than centerfire, so clean the chamber and bolt face every few hundred rounds to keep extraction smooth. Run a few patches through the bore from the breech end, wipe down the magazines and check the action screws and scope mounts before each match or hunt. A light coat of oil on exposed metal keeps rust away in damp weather.
