Description
The Volquartsen Superlite 22 Magnum is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle built around a carbon-fiber-sleeved THM tension barrel, weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces with a TG2000 trigger breaking at 2.25 pounds. It is what a 22 WMR looks like when nobody is trying to hit a price point.
The THM Tension Barrel
A tension barrel is a thin steel liner held under tension inside a rigid outer sleeve. Putting the liner in tension damps vibration and stiffens the assembly far beyond what the liner alone could manage, which is why the technique appears on serious target rifles. Volquartsen sleeves theirs in carbon fiber. The result on the Volquartsen Superlite 22 Magnum is a 16.75-inch barrel with the rigidity of something much heavier and the weight of something much thinner.
Five Pounds Six Ounces
The whole rifle weighs 5 pounds 6 ounces. That is remarkable for a semi-automatic with a match-grade barrel, and it comes from the carbon sleeve, a black Type III hard anodized aluminum receiver and a Hogue stock. For a walking varmint rifle or a rifle carried on a squirrel hunt all morning, the difference between five and a half pounds and eight is enormous.
TG2000 Trigger at 2.25 Pounds
Volquartsen’s TG2000 trigger group breaks cleanly at 2.25 pounds. Rimfire semi-autos are notorious for heavy, creepy triggers, and this is the single biggest reason the Superlite outshoots almost everything in its class. There is nothing to adjust and nothing to install. It is fitted from the factory.
Integral Picatinny Rail
The receiver carries an integral Picatinny rail at zero MOA, machined as part of the receiver rather than bolted on. That removes the most common source of scope-mounting error on a rimfire rifle and gives a rigid, repeatable platform for optics. There are no iron sights, which is correct for a rifle intended to be scoped.
Threaded Muzzle and Forward Blow Comp
The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 and wears a removable Forward Blow compensator in black anodized aluminum. Remove it and a suppressor mounts directly, which pairs beautifully with a rimfire. Twist is 1:16, correct for 22 WMR bullet weights.
Why 22 WMR
The 22 Magnum reaches meaningfully further than 22 LR, flattening trajectory and adding energy for foxes, coyotes at close range and larger varmints, while keeping recoil at essentially nothing. In a rifle this accurate, the Volquartsen Superlite 22 Magnum makes 125-yard head shots on small game a realistic proposition rather than a hopeful one. Magazines hold nine rounds.

Who Should Buy It
This is for the shooter who takes rimfire seriously: varmint hunters, small game hunters who want precision, and anyone who has grown tired of fighting a factory trigger. The weight makes it a genuine walking rifle rather than a bench gun.
The Volquartsen Superlite 22 Magnum is expensive, and it is built to order rather than pulled off a shelf. Rimfire ammunition is also lot sensitive, and 22 WMR costs several times what 22 LR does, so high-volume plinking is not its purpose.
Shooters who want cheap volume should compare a 22 LR rifle, and buyers on a budget will find capable rimfires for a fraction of the price in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
