Description
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 1 MOA Adjustable is the fine-dot member of Trijicon’s adjustable LED RMR line, a 1 MOA red dot in the classic matte black RMR housing with no mount included. It is the choice for shooters who prioritize a precise aiming point on a pistol, or who want a tiny dot for an offset backup on a magnified rifle.
Trijicon RMR Type 2 1 MOA Adjustable Overview
Trijicon part RM09-C-700742 is a Type 2 RMR, with the second generation’s stronger electronics, improved battery contacts and refined adjusters. The adjustable LED offers 8 brightness settings including 2 night vision levels, plus an automatic mode. Without a mount in the box, you choose the plate or rail mount that suits your gun.
Choosing the 1.0 MOA Dot
A 1 MOA dot is the smallest LED dot Trijicon offers in the RMR. It covers about a quarter inch at 25 yards and one inch at 100 yards, which makes it a favorite for offset backup sights on precision rifles and for shooters who want the finest possible aiming point on a pistol. The trade-off is speed: a tiny dot is slower to find during a fast draw, especially for shooters new to optics.
Controls and Battery
Push buttons on both sides of the housing adjust brightness through 8 settings, including 2 night vision compatible levels and a super-bright setting, toggle between manual and automatic brightness, and power the sight down for storage. Trijicon rates battery life at over 4 years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8. A lockout feature prevents accidental changes, and the sight remembers your last setting.
Mounting Options
No mount is included. The RMR footprint is the most widely supported optic pattern, so plates are available for nearly every optic-ready pistol, and Picatinny mounts are available for rifles and shotguns. Confirm your slide cut and buy the matching plate or mount.
Built for Abuse
The RMR is famous for durability. Its forged aluminum body uses a patented housing shape that steers impact energy away from the lens, and the sight is waterproof to 66 feet. Windage and elevation adjust 1 MOA per click with no special tools needed. This model wears Trijicon’s standard matte black anodized finish, which matches most pistol slides and rifle receivers and shows wear less than colored coatings.
Honest Considerations
The 1 MOA dot rewards precise shooters but is slower to find during a fast draw, and it can look dim in direct sunlight unless brightness is turned up. Battery changes require removing the optic from the slide or mount, so plan a yearly replacement.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
