The Tippmann Arms M4-22 Pro MSR Black is the value end of Tippmann’s .22 LR AR-15 line, and it gives up very little to do it. You get a 16 inch black parkerized threaded barrel, aluminum receivers with a Picatinny top rail and an M-LOK handguard, at a price well below the Elite.
Where the Pro Sits in the Line
Tippmann builds the Pro around a 16 inch 4150 solid steel barrel and a nickel plated bolt, with mil-spec aluminum upper and lower receivers. Because so much of the gun is mil-spec, most AR-15 stocks, grips, handguards and sights fit directly, which makes it an easy base gun to personalise.
The practical difference between the Pro and the Elite is finish level and furniture rather than function. Both are aluminum, both accept the same magazines, and both handle like the centrefire carbine they imitate.

The M-LOK handguard mounts accessories directly without bolt-on rail sections, keeping the front end slim. The receiver carries a full length Picatinny rail on the flat top for a red dot or a scope.

An adjustable CAR15 polymer stock sits on a standard buffer tube so length of pull can be set for any shooter, and the Tippmann Gen2 grip swaps out for any AR-15 grip. Everything here is a standard interface rather than a proprietary one.

Ammunition and Accuracy
Blowback rimfire actions want copper plated high velocity ammunition rather than the cheapest bulk lead round nose. CCI Mini-Mag, Federal Automatch and similar loads cycle consistently and shoot noticeably tighter groups, and the difference shows up clearly at 50 yards. With decent ammunition and a red dot most shooters can stay on a soda can well past that distance.
Training Value
The real argument for a rimfire AR is round count. Five hundred rounds of .22 costs less than a single box of match centrefire ammunition, which means you can actually practise reloads, malfunction drills and position shooting instead of rationing them.
