Description
The Tippmann Arms M4-22 Pro Compliant is the restricted state build of Tippmann’s .22 LR AR-15. It ships with a fixed CAR15 stock, a ten round magazine and a non-threaded 16 inch barrel, which is what keeps it legal where adjustable stocks, threaded muzzles and larger magazines are not.
What Compliant Means Here
Three things change from the standard Pro. The stock is a fixed CAR15 polymer unit rather than an adjustable one, the muzzle is left unthreaded, and the rifle ships with a ten round magazine instead of a twenty five. Everything else about the gun is unchanged.
That is worth stressing, because plenty of compliance builds strip out features that matter. The receivers are still aluminum, the top rail is still full length Picatinny, and the handguard is still M-LOK.
Tippmann Arms M4-22 Pro Compliant Barrel and Handguard
The barrel is 16 inches of 4150 solid steel with a black parkerized finish, paired with a nickel plated bolt for smoother cycling in a rimfire action that runs dirty by nature. Rimfire fouling is the main enemy of reliability in any .22 semi-auto, and plated parts help.
The M-LOK handguard mounts accessories directly without bolt-on rail sections, and a composite forend keeps weight down. The receiver’s Picatinny flat top takes any AR pattern optic mount.
Furniture and Fit
Because so much of the rifle is mil-spec, most AR-15 grips, optics and sights fit directly. The fixed CAR15 stock sets a standard length of pull that suits most adult shooters, and the Tippmann Gen2 grip can be replaced with any AR-15 grip you prefer.
Capacity is 10+1 from the supplied magazine. Tippmann sells the same magazine in short ten round and pinned fifteen round versions, so you can add spares that keep the rifle compliant where you live.
Ammunition and Accuracy
Blowback rimfire actions want copper plated high velocity ammunition rather than the cheapest bulk lead round nose. CCI Mini-Mag, Federal Automatch and similar loads cycle consistently and group noticeably tighter, and the difference is obvious by 50 yards. With decent ammunition and a red dot most shooters stay on a soda can well beyond that.
Training Value
Round count is the real argument for a rimfire AR. Five hundred rounds of .22 costs less than one box of match centrefire ammunition, so reloads, malfunction drills and position work stop being something you ration and start being something you actually practise.
