Description
The Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI is the metal-framed M&P9 finished in champagne Cerakote, with a ported barrel and slide, and an Aimpoint ACRO P-2 red dot fitted from the factory. It is a Spec Series build, which is how Smith & Wesson package a gun with the optic already sorted rather than leaving you to choose, buy and mount one.
The ACRO P-2 on its own is a significant part of the price of this package, which is what makes the bundle worth looking at rather than buying the pistol and the dot separately.
Part number 14634, UPC 022188905021. Deep stock.
What the Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI is
- 9mm Luger, 15+1 capacity
- 4-inch black Armornite ported barrel
- Champagne Cerakote stainless steel slide, ported and serrated, cut for the optic
- Aluminium frame with a Picatinny rail – this is the metal-frame M&P, not the polymer one
- Interchangeable palmswell grip inserts
- Aimpoint ACRO P-2 enclosed-emitter red dot, fitted
- Spec Series build

Why the ACRO P-2 matters more than the finish
- The Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI carries an enclosed-emitter sight. The lens and the emitter sit inside a sealed housing rather than facing each other across an open gap, so rain, snow, mud and pocket lint cannot get between them and block the dot
- Open-emitter micro dots are lighter and cheaper and they are genuinely vulnerable in bad weather. This is the design that fixes that
- It is rated for a very long battery life on a single cell and it is built to survive being carried, which is a different requirement from being shot at a range
- Buying the pistol and the optic separately costs more, and then you still have to have the slide cut or find the right plate
- The trade is bulk and weight. An enclosed emitter is a larger object sitting on the slide than a micro open dot

What else is in the box – ask before you assume
Sports South confirm the pistol and the Aimpoint ACRO P-2. The distributor photograph also shows a bag, a belt and spare magazines alongside the pistol, and packages of this type normally do include a kit of some sort. We are not going to list contents we cannot verify on a two thousand dollar package – if the extras matter to your decision, ask us and we will confirm the exact contents with the distributor before you order.
A metal frame, and what it changes
The Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI uses an aluminium frame in place of the usual polymer. It is heavier, and on a 9mm that weight sits exactly where it helps – the gun moves less under recoil and the sights settle faster. Combined with the ported barrel and slide, this is a notably flat-shooting 9mm.
The cost is carrying it. A metal-framed compact is a duty or range pistol first and a concealed-carry pistol second. Anyone planning to wear it all day should buy the belt to match.
Ammunition
9mm Luger is standardised by SAAMI. A ported barrel is an argument for cleaner ammunition – ports foul faster than a plain barrel, particularly with dirty or heavily waxed practice loads. Federal Champion 115gr FMJ is a clean, inexpensive practice choice.
Other optic-ready 9mm pistols we carry
If you would rather choose your own dot, the Glock 19 Gen 6 and the CZ P-10 C Optic Ready are both cut from the factory and cost a great deal less. The M&P Shield X is the carry-sized option in the same family.
Why the Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI earns its place
- An Aimpoint ACRO P-2 fitted and zeroed-ready, which is a large fraction of the package price on its own
- The Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI has an enclosed-emitter dot, the right design for a gun that goes outdoors
- Aluminium frame plus a ported barrel and slide – about as flat-shooting as a 4-inch 9mm gets
- Champagne Cerakote, which is a finish rather than a paint and wears well
- Deep stock, so no waiting
This is a gun for someone who has decided they want a red dot and would rather not spend a weekend researching footprints, plates and heights. That is a perfectly good reason to buy a package and it usually works out cheaper than assembling the same thing.
The honest caveats: it is heavy for daily concealed carry, the ported barrel makes it louder than a plain one, and the champagne finish is a matter of taste – it looks considerably better in person than in photographs, but it is not subtle.
If none of that puts you off, the Smith Wesson MP9 M2.0 Spec VI is a lot of pistol and a lot of optic in one purchase. MAG5 Firearms ships to your FFL.
