Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18 – Masterful 9mm

Description

The Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18 is the configuration most shooters would build if SIG let them order a P226 a la carte: full-size frame, match-grade bull barrel, single-action trigger, Hogue G10 grips and eighteen rounds on board. MAG5 Firearms stocks it in Legion Gray Cerakote with a SIG-LOC optic cut.

Match Grade Bull Barrel and Sight Radius

A bull barrel carries more mass at the muzzle than a standard contour, which damps rise and resists the whip thinner barrels develop under sustained fire. Match-grade means tighter chamber and bore tolerances than a service barrel.

At 4.4 inches the Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18 also has the longest sight radius in the P226 line, which reduces the angular error a shooter contributes on every shot.

Single Action Only

Deleting the double-action first press removes the largest inconsistency in shooting a hammer-fired pistol quickly. Every shot from the first breaks the same short, clean way.

Carry it cocked with the thumb safety engaged, exactly as you would a 1911. For competition or range use the Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18 is simply the easier gun to shoot well.

Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18 Specifications

The Legion Production Standard

Legion is a separate production line rather than a color option. The guns receive upgraded internals, closer assembly tolerances and finish work that ordinary production pistols do not get, and it shows in how the slide cycles and where the trigger breaks.

Legion Gray Cerakote covers the stainless slide and the aluminum frame. It is harder than anodizing, more corrosion resistant than bluing, and it hides the holster wear that shows immediately on a black gun.

SIG-LOC Optic Mounting on the Sig Sauer P226X Legion Full SAO 18

The slide arrives cut for the SIG-LOC footprint, which mounts a compatible red dot directly to the slide with no adapter plate. Removing the plate removes the most common failure point in a pistol optic setup.

A lower mounting height also means suppressor-height irons co-witness through the window rather than sitting below it.
