Description
The Ruger 57 Pistol Dark Earth 20 Round is a pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm with a 4.94-inch barrel and a 20+1 capacity. Ruger lists this model as number 16412, finished in dark earth cerakote slide and frame (davidsons special run).
Ruger 57 Pistol Dark Earth 20 Round Overview
The Ruger-5.7 is a full-size pistol chambered in the fast, flat-shooting 5.7x28mm cartridge. It pairs a high-capacity double-stack steel magazine with a textured, ergonomic glass-filled nylon frame and an easy trigger reach.
Design and Features
It has a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, a robust slide release, and a reversible magazine release. The through-hardened billet steel slide has lightening cuts and is drilled and tapped for an optic adapter plate, and a Picatinny accessory rail accepts lights and lasers.
Handling and Carry
Ruger handguns are known for rugged reliability and value, and this model is comfortable to shoot and easy to maintain.
Trigger and Controls
Ruger’s Secure Action fire control combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger for a short, smooth pull, clean break, and positive reset. Takedown requires no tools and no trigger pull, and an inspection port lets you confirm a loaded or empty chamber.
Sights and Optics
An adjustable, serrated rear sight and a fiber optic front sight give fast, accurate aiming.
The 5.7x28mm Cartridge
The 5.7x28mm fires small, fast bullets with very little recoil and a flat trajectory, and it allows high magazine capacity in a full-size pistol.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
