Description
The Ruger Mark IV 22 45 Lite 22 LR is a pistol chambered in 22 LR with a 4.40-inch barrel and a 10+1 capacity. Ruger lists this model as number 43959, finished in black anodized.
Ruger Mark IV 22 45 Lite 22 LR Overview
The Mark IV is the latest version of Ruger’s classic rimfire target pistol, famous for its accuracy and one-button takedown. Press a button at the back of the frame and the barrel-receiver assembly tilts up and off for easy cleaning.
Design and Features
An internal cylindrical bolt keeps the sights and barrel permanently aligned for better accuracy than many moving-slide designs. Cold hammer-forged barrels deliver precise rifling and long life, and the ambidextrous manual safety can be converted to left side only.
Handling and Carry
Ruger handguns are known for rugged reliability and value, and this model is comfortable to shoot and easy to maintain.
Trigger and Controls
The push-button magazine release drops the magazine free for quick reloads, and a magazine disconnect prevents firing with the magazine removed.
Sights and Optics
Adjustable rear and fiber optic or fixed front sights come standard, and the receiver is set up for optics mounting.
The 22 LR Cartridge
The 22 LR is the most affordable cartridge to shoot, with almost no recoil and little noise.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
