Description
The Retay RXP22 Black TB 18rd is a pistol chambered in 22 LR and a 18+1 capacity.
Retay RXP22 Black TB 18rd Overview
22 LR training pistol with the size and feel of a 9mm. It is built with quality components, including a chrome-finished, low-alloy AISI 4140 steel barrel that Retay precision drills. When you choose a handgun, the right size depends on how you plan to use it. A smaller frame is easier to conceal under a light shirt, while a longer grip and slide give you more control, a longer sight radius and faster follow-up shots at the range.
Spend time with the grip in your hand, try a few draws from the holster you plan to use, and practice reloads with the magazines it ships with. Regular practice with quality ammunition will build the confidence and skill that matter far more than any single feature.
Design and Features
The slide is drilled and tapped for RMR and RMSC optics, with a universal plate for other footprints. Aggressive slide serrations, a textured grip and weighted metal magazines round out the package, and the front sight is a TruGlo fiber optic. For carry, pair it with a quality holster that covers the trigger guard completely and a sturdy belt that keeps the gun stable through the day. For home defense, a weapon light and a secure, quick-access safe are worth considering. Whatever the role, spend time learning to manipulate the controls until loading, unloading and clearing malfunctions become second nature.
Handling and Carry
The RXP22 lets you practice draw, sight picture and trigger control for a fraction of the cost of centerfire ammunition, and it is a fun plinker and small-game gun in its own right.
Trigger and Controls
The double/single action trigger gives a long first pull and a short, light single action for follow-up shots.
Sights and Optics
The TruGlo front sight is quick to pick up, and the optic-ready slide lets you add a red dot.
The 22 LR Cartridge
The 22 LR is the most affordable cartridge to shoot, with almost no recoil and little noise.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
