Description
The Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 is Radian Weapons’ threadless compensator kit for Glock 43, sold as part number R0842. It pairs the RAMJET ported pistol barrel with the AFTERBURNER micro-compensator, joined by Radian’s INTRA-LOK taper interface. There are no muzzle threads to cut and no gunsmithing involved: the barrel drops into the slide and the compensator clamps to it. MAG5 Firearms stocks the black Radianite version under UPC 810098420686.

How the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 works
The Ramjet ported barrel is match-grade, cut-rifled and machined from hardened 416R stainless steel. It is fluted to shed weight and heat, and a gas sealing chamber sits behind the muzzle to route propellant gas into the compensator instead of letting it vent straight forward. Because the muzzle is left unthreaded, the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 stays usable in states that restrict threaded handgun barrels, and a loaded chamber indicator is cut into the hood.
The Afterburner micro compensator slides over that gas chamber and locks down on one tapered screw at 15 inch-pounds. That is what the threadless INTRA-LOK mount buys you: no thread timing, no crush washer, no thread locker to break free later, and the whole assembly comes back off in a couple of minutes. Radian rates the barrel and compensator together at a 44 percent reduction in felt recoil with 115-grain ammunition.

What the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 changes on the range
A Glock 43 compensator has more to overcome than most. The G43 is light and short, so recoil is fast rather than heavy, and the change on the dot is one you see rather than measure. Shooters running the gun in classes notice it first.
The trade is honest: a single stack 9mm barrel carries less mass to begin with, and this kit adds weight and length at the muzzle of a pistol chosen for having neither. If you bought the G43 to disappear under a shirt, weigh that before committing.
Fitment and holsters
Check the fitment before you order, because these kits are not interchangeable between models or generations; the hood and lug geometry differ. This Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 is cut for Glock 43 only, and nothing else. Radian builds separate part numbers for every other host pistol, and none of them cross over.
Holsters are the binding constraint. The G43 is a single-stack subcompact and very few makers cut a shell with the muzzle clearance this kit needs. Confirm a compensated G43 option exists before ordering, because a standard G43 holster will not close over it.
The honest caveats
A compensator is not free performance, and the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 is no exception. Redirecting gas upward makes the pistol noticeably louder to the shooter and to anyone standing beside you, and it throws more gas, unburned powder and particulate back toward your face. Indoors, or shooting from a compressed retention position, that is genuinely unpleasant.
Ported barrels and compensators also foul quickly. Expect to scrub carbon out of the Afterburner micro compensator far more often than you would clean a plain muzzle, and expect the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 to want cleaning on a schedule closer to a suppressed gun than a stock one.
Hanging a compensator on the gun also changes slide timing. Radian says plainly that the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 can require adjustment to recoil spring, lubrication or ammunition choice. Light 115-grain range loads are the floor the system is designed around, and anything weaker can short-stroke. If the pistol has a defensive role, put a couple hundred rounds of your actual carry load through it before you trust the setup.
Check local law as well. The Ramjet ported barrel ships unthreaded and is sold as fifty-state legal, but some municipalities restrict compensated or ported handguns, and several competition divisions bar them from stock classes. Because there are no muzzle threads, the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 is not a suppressor host either; if a can is in your future, buy a threaded barrel instead.
Who the Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 suits
G43 owners who shoot the pistol far more than they carry it. A subcompact is the hardest 9mm to shoot flat, so this is where a compensator does the most visible work, and also where the blast is least pleasant.
The Radian Afterburner Ramjet Glock 43 comes off in minutes and leaves no permanent change to the pistol, so it is a reversible experiment rather than a commitment. If you run a Gen 6 Glock as well, we stock the all-black Glock 19/45 Gen 6 kit, and the Radian Glock 19 quick-tune guide rod is the usual companion for dialling recoil spring weight back in once the compensator changes the timing.
