Description
The Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray is built around a simple piece of arithmetic: you probably already own the magazines. It feeds from double stack Glock pattern 9mm magazines, which is the most common pistol magazine in the country, so the running cost of this gun is closer to zero than almost anything else in the large format pistol aisle.
Panzer builds the receiver set from 7075 hardened aluminum and hangs a 6.5 inch 4140 barrel off it, finished in Tactical Gray with a black barrel and black polymer grip. The Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray weighs 4.96 pounds and measures 14.76 inches, which is short enough to live in a bag and heavy enough that 9mm recoil essentially disappears.
We are holding two hundred of them. The Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray ships with a 15 round magazine, a 33 round magazine, a sling and a muzzle brake, which is a more complete package than most guns at this price arrive with.
Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray at a glance
- Semi-automatic, straight blowback 9mm Luger large format pistol with an AR type fire control group, so a trigger you already like will very likely drop in.
- 7075 hardened aluminum upper and lower in a Tactical Gray finish, with a matching M-LOK handguard.
- 6.5 inch 4140 carbon alloy steel barrel, black finish, 1:10 twist, muzzle threaded 1/2×28 with a tri-lug shoulder.
- Double stack Glock pattern magazine well. One 15 round and one 33 round magazine are in the box.
- Adjustable flip up front and rear sights, on a full length Picatinny top rail that runs across the handguard.
- Fully ambidextrous controls, and a rear M1913 Picatinny interface for a folding brace.

Why the magazine well matters more than the spec sheet
- Glock pattern 9mm magazines are the cheapest and most widely stocked pistol magazines sold. A spare for this gun costs a fraction of what a proprietary magazine costs for a comparable European pistol caliber carbine.
- If you own a Glock 17, 19, 26, 34 or 45, or any of the dozens of pistols built to take those magazines, your existing pile already works in the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray.
- Our Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 is the straightforward spare, and it is one of the most heavily stocked items in the catalogue, so you are not waiting on a backorder.
- For range volume, the Magpul PMAG D-50 GL9 PCC drum is worth a look. Read the fitment note below before you buy one.
- The 33 round magazine in the box is a factory unit, not a token 10 rounder, so the gun is usable straight out of the case.

Shooting the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray
Straight blowback in 9mm is an honest system. There is no gas tube to foul, no piston to adjust and nothing to tune. The Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray runs a bolt heavy enough to stay closed until pressure drops, and the five pound overall weight means the gun barely moves under standard 115 grain ball. Most shooters find the sight picture never really leaves the target between shots.
Standard 115 grain full metal jacket is what this platform was designed around and what we would feed it for the first few hundred rounds. Our CCI Blazer Brass 9mm 115 grain FMJ is the sensible break in load, and at the volume a blowback 9mm encourages, price per round matters more here than on any pistol you own.
The flip up sights on the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray are genuinely adjustable rather than decorative, but the full length top rail is the real point. A red dot sits low and far enough forward to give a fast, both eyes open sight picture, and the rail is one continuous surface so the optic and the folded irons never fight each other for space.
If you want a heavier, roller delayed take on the same idea, the Century Arms AP5 sits in the same part of the rack and runs a very different action. It is worth handling both before deciding which format you actually want.
Fitment, braces and the legal line
The Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray is a pistol. The rear M1913 Picatinny interface is there for a folding brace, and no brace ships with the gun. A brace is a legal accessory on a pistol. A shoulder stock is not: fitting one to a firearm with a 6.5 inch barrel creates a short barreled rifle, which requires ATF approval and a transfer through a dealer who handles those items. MAG5 does not sell or transfer NFA items, so that is a conversation to have with a dealer who does before you buy any rear attachment.
On magazines, Magpul states that the PMAG D-50 GL9 PCC drum is for “most” 9x19mm pistol caliber carbines and large format pistols with double stack Glock pattern magazine wells, and it specifically excludes Glock handguns, the B&T GHM9 and the Kel-Tec Sub-2000. Panzer does not publish a drum compatibility statement of its own, so treat the drum as very likely rather than guaranteed, and buy it somewhere you can return it. Standard stick magazines in the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray carry no such question.
Who the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray suits
- Anyone who already has a drawer of Glock magazines and does not want to start a second magazine collection.
- High volume range shooters who want 9mm running costs with a rifle sight radius and a rifle shooting position.
- Buyers who want a large format pistol that is genuinely compact folded down, for a bag or a vehicle, rather than a full length carbine.
- Anyone building around a red dot and a light, since the full length rail and M-LOK handguard mean no adapters are needed.
- Shooters who prefer the Tactical Gray finish to the black that every other gun on the rack is wearing.
The honest summary on the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray is that it does not try to be clever. It is an aluminum receiver, a blowback bolt, an AR trigger and a Glock magazine well, and every one of those choices was made to keep the gun cheap to own rather than interesting to read about. That combination is why this format has taken over the pistol caliber market.
Specifications here come from the distributor record and from Panzer Arms USA’s own product page. If anything on this listing does not match the gun that arrives, tell us and we will fix the page rather than argue about it.
This is a serialized firearm and ships to a licensed dealer for transfer. Stock on the Panzer Arms ARP9 Tactical Gray is deep right now at two hundred units, and the Coyote Tan version of the same gun is on the shelf in the same numbers if the finish is the only thing holding you back.
