Two Calibers in One Revolver
The included second cylinder is the reason to choose this combo. Load the 22 LR cylinder for inexpensive practice, plinking and small game, then swap back to 22 Magnum when you want more velocity. Swapping takes under a minute: press the base pin latch, pull the pin, drop the cylinder out and slide the other one in. Keep the cylinders matched to the right ammunition, because the chambers are sized differently and mixing them up can split cases.
Fixed Low Profile Sights
The fixed Marble Arms sights sit low and snag-free, which matters when the revolver lives in a pocket or a small holster. They are regulated for typical loads at short range. If you would rather adjust elevation for a particular load, NAA sells an adjustable sight version, but most owners find the fixed sights more than accurate enough for cans and paper at 7 to 15 yards.
Grip and Handling
The oversized rubber grip gives room for two fingers and a pinky tuck on most hands. Single Action Operation
Like every NAA mini, the Black Widow is single action only. You cock the hammer with your thumb for each shot and press the spur trigger, which has no trigger guard around it. Practice lowering the hammer into a notch with an unloaded revolver until it is routine.
Ammunition and Noise
22 Magnum from a 2 inch barrel is loud and produces a bright flash, especially indoors, so wear good hearing protection. Expect lower velocity than the box advertises, since those figures come from rifle barrels. 22 Magnum ammunition also costs more per round than 22 LR and is sometimes harder to find, which is one more reason the included 22 LR cylinder earns its keep for practice.
