Description
The Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot is the competition build of the 507, and its reticle is the reason to buy it. Not a dot, and not a dot in a ring, but a four element Competition Reticle System: a 2 MOA dot with selectable 8, 20 and 32 MOA circles around it. Part HS507COMP-RD.

Three Circles Are Three Rulers
A circle of known angular size measures things, and the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot gives you three of them. That is the whole idea, and having three of them on one optic gives you a scale rather than a single reference.
At ten yards the 8 MOA circle covers about eight tenths of an inch, the 20 covers two inches, and the 32 covers three and a quarter. At twenty five yards those become two inches, five inches and eight inches. An eight inch plate at twenty five yards fills the 32 MOA circle exactly, which means the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot tells you the distance the moment the target fits the ring. Learn those relationships and you stop estimating range on a stage and start reading it.
Pick The Ring To Suit The Stage
The three circles on the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot are not just measuring tools, they are three different sight pictures. The 32 MOA ring is the close range option, big and impossible to lose on a fast draw. The 8 MOA ring sits tight around the dot and gives you a fine aiming reference that still helps your eye find center. The 20 sits between.
Run the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot with the 32 for a close, fast field of targets, drop to the 8 when the stage is small steel at distance, or turn the circles off entirely and shoot the bare 2 MOA dot. Nothing needs re-zeroing between them, because every element is projected from the same emitter.
Red At 650 Nanometres, And Why It Is Still The Default
Green and gold get the attention now that the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot has competition in its own family, and both have real advantages. Red is still the most common reticle color for a reason worth understanding rather than dismissing.
Red emitters at 650nm are the most electrically efficient of the three, which is part of how the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot reaches 50,000 hours on a CR1632. Red is also what most shooters have trained on, and a reticle color your eye already knows is worth something real on a timer. Where red struggles is against warm backgrounds, brick, rust, brown cardboard. If the targets you shoot are white steel and painted plate, that objection largely disappears and red is the sensible, efficient choice.
A Big Window For A Busy Reticle
The Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot window measures 1.1 by 0.87 inches, the largest Holosun puts on a 507. That is not a coincidence, it is a requirement. A four element reticle needs room, and a 32 MOA circle crammed into a small window touches the edges and stops being useful.
Given the glass to work with, the circles on the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot sit comfortably inside the frame with space around them, so the ring reads as a ring rather than as the border of the window. That is the difference between a reticle you can range with and a reticle that just looks busy.
One Number To Check Before You Order
Adjustment travel on the Holosun HS507COMP Red Dot is 30 MOA in each direction, not the 50 MOA the standard 507C carries. On a slide cut that is close to true, 30 MOA is ample and you will never see the limit.
On a stacked adapter plate on a pistol that is already pointing slightly off, it is less headroom than you may be used to, and running out of adjustment mid zero is a frustrating way to discover that. If you are mounting through a plate, or if a previous optic gave you trouble zeroing on that gun, tell us before you order and we will work through it with you.

Ordering
Manufacturer specifications are published at Holosun. We are a family owned FFL dealer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and we would rather check your footprint and your adjustment headroom with you than sell you a sight that fights your pistol.
