Which EPS Is This One

Holosun sells six sights under the EPS and EPS Carry names including the Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA and they are genuinely different, so it is worth being explicit rather than making you guess from a part number.

This is the full size EPS, green, with a 2 MOA dot and no circle. Its siblings are the same housing in red, the 6 MOA versions with a larger dot, and the MRS versions that add a 32 MOA ring you can switch on. The Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA is the choice for a shooter whose presentation is already consistent, who wants the cleanest window with one fine aiming point in it, and whose backgrounds eat a red reticle.

Green On A Fine Dot Matters More

Human daylight vision peaks almost exactly at 540nm, so the green emitter in the Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA reads brighter to your eye than a red one producing the same actual light. That is true on any sight, and it matters more here because of the dot size.

The 2 MOA dot on the Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA has very little area to be seen with. It needs to be crisp rather than merely bright, and the way people ruin a fine dot is by pushing a dim emitter hard until it blooms into a starburst. Green reaches the brightness you need with headroom to spare, so the dot stays round instead of growing spikes. The honest other half: against grass, foliage and green painted steel, green loses contrast and red would serve you better.

Enclosed, Because A Carry Gun Collects Things

An open reflex sight, unlike the Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA, fires its emitter upward from an exposed shelf at a lens. It works until holster lint, sweat, sunscreen, gun oil or rain lands on that emitter, at which point the reticle dims or dies and you find out at the worst possible moment.

The Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA has no exposed emitter. The assembly is sealed inside the housing with glass at both ends, so there is nothing for debris to land on and nothing to wipe before you can trust the dot. That is the single most meaningful durability difference in the pistol optic market.

The Aspheric Lens And Co Witness

Enclosed sights put two pieces of glass between your eye and the target instead of one, and cheap execution shows up as a dim, faintly distorted window with a blue cast at the edges. The Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA uses an aspheric lens, whose curve is not a simple section of a sphere, to keep the image geometrically honest across the whole window rather than only in the middle.

The Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA housing is also built low enough to co witness, which means standard height iron sights are far more likely to show in the bottom of the window rather than disappearing below it. On a gun where you want irons as a backup, that is worth confirming before you buy any enclosed sight, and this one is designed for it.

The Plate Is In The Box

The Holosun EPS Green 2 MOA mounts directly to a K footprint slide, and Holosun includes an RMR to K adapter plate. That means a full size slide cut for an RMR takes this sight too, without a separate purchase, which removes the usual friction from upgrading off an open sight you already own.

One number to check first: adjustments move 1.5 MOA per click across 30 MOA of travel each way, coarser and shorter than the full size 407 and 507 optics. On a true slide cut that is ample. Through a stacked plate on a pistol that already points slightly off it is less headroom than you may expect, so if a previous optic fought you on that gun, mention it before you order.
