Description
The Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA is an enclosed pistol sight built around three things Holosun names specifically: a sealed emitter, an aspheric lens, and an ultra low deck height. Reticle is a single 2 MOA gold dot. Part EPS-GD-2.

Deck Height Is The Specification Nobody Explains
Deck height on the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA is how far the optical axis sits above the mounting surface. It never appears in a comparison chart and it changes two things that matter every time you shoot.
First, mechanical offset. The lower the sight sits, the closer your line of sight is to the bore, and the smaller your miss at contact distance when you forget to compensate.
Second, co witness. A low deck height means standard height iron sights are far more likely to show up in the bottom of the window rather than disappearing below it. The Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA is deliberately built low for both reasons, and on an enclosed sight, which has more housing to work around than an open one, that is a real piece of engineering rather than a claim.
The Aspheric Lens Is Not Decoration
Enclosed sights like the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA put two pieces of glass between your eye and the target instead of one, and cheap execution of that shows up as a dim, faintly distorted window with a blue cast at the edges.
An aspheric lens has a curve that is not a simple section of a sphere, which lets it keep the image geometrically honest across the whole window rather than only in the middle. On the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA that means the dot stays round near the edges of the glass and the picture does not shift as your head moves. Paired with unlimited eye relief, you can shoot it from an awkward position and still trust what you are looking at.
Two MOA, And What It Costs
The 2 MOA dot on the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA covers half an inch at twenty five yards and two inches at a hundred. That is small enough that the reticle stops being the limiting factor in your group and small enough to shoot a pistol honestly at distances most people never attempt.
The cost is real and worth stating: a fine dot takes fractionally longer to find on a fast draw than a 6 MOA one, and it punishes an inconsistent presentation. If you are newer to optics, the 6 MOA version of this sight would be kinder. If your draw is already grooved, the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA gives back precision a larger dot simply cannot.
Sealed, Because A Carry Gun Collects Things
An open reflex sight, unlike the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA, fires its emitter upward from an exposed shelf. It works until holster lint, sweat, sunscreen, gun oil or rain lands on that emitter, at which point the reticle dims or dies and you find out at the worst possible moment.
The Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA has no exposed emitter. The assembly is sealed inside the housing with glass at both ends, so there is nothing for debris to land on and nothing to wipe before you can trust the dot. That is the whole reason enclosed sights have taken over duty and carry use.
Gold, And The Plate In The Box
At 590nm the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA sits between red and green. Red loses contrast against brick, rust, timber and brown clothing; green loses it against grass, foliage and painted steel. Gold belongs to neither failure case, which is a sensible hedge on a gun that does not get to choose its backdrop.
It mounts directly to a K footprint slide, and Holosun includes an RMR to K adapter plate. That means a full size slide cut for an RMR takes this sight too, without a separate purchase, which removes the usual friction from upgrading off an open sight you already own.
Numbers Worth Knowing
Adjustments on the Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA move 1.5 MOA per click across 30 MOA of travel each way, which is coarser and shorter than the full size 407 and 507 optics. On a true slide cut this is ample. Through a stacked plate on a pistol that already points slightly off it is less headroom than you may expect, so if a previous optic gave you zeroing trouble on that gun, mention it before you order and we will check the numbers with you.

Who The Holosun EPS Gold 2 MOA Is For
- Shooters who want irons to co witness in the bottom of the window
- Anyone who wants the smallest possible offset between sight line and bore
- Carry guns where a blocked emitter is not an acceptable failure
- Shooters whose presentation is consistent and who want precision over speed
- Anyone upgrading from an open sight who already has an RMR cut
Ordering
Manufacturer specifications are published at Holosun. We are a family owned FFL dealer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and if you are newer to pistol optics we will tell you the 6 MOA version is probably the better first sight. The rest of our optics selection is here to compare open against enclosed.
