It brings the sealed emitter of the full-size AEMS line down to a size that suits carry and compact duty pistols, with a red reticle you can switch between a dot, a circle or both.
Holosun AEMS Micro Red Multi-Reticle Overview
Enclosed sights used to mean big, boxy optics that looked out of place on a carry gun. 1 ounces, so it sits comfortably on a compact slide. 71 inch window makes the most of that small footprint, giving more usable glass than a round window of similar size. A red LED projects a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or a combined circle-dot through 1x glass with unlimited eye relief, so you keep both eyes open and focus on the threat rather than the optic.
Fully Enclosed Emitter
The emitter sits inside a sealed housing between front and rear lenses. Rain, lint, snow and range debris cannot settle on the diode and block the reticle, which is a real advantage for an optic carried daily under clothing. The housing is machined from 7075 T6 aluminum with a hard-anodized finish and is rated to 5000G of vibration. Holosun gives it an IPX8 waterproof rating, a step beyond the splash protection of many open-emitter carry dots.
Multi-Reticle System
Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System lets you choose the aiming reference that suits the job. The 2 MOA dot is fine enough for precise shots at extended pistol distances, the 32 MOA circle is quick to find at close range, and the circle-dot combination gives you both. The red LED operates at 650nm, a crisp, familiar color for most shooters. Shooters with astigmatism should try the circle-dot mode; the outer ring can make a slightly smeared dot easier to center.
Brightness, Solar and Battery
A forward-facing light sensor adjusts reticle intensity automatically as you move between light and shadow, or you can set brightness manually with 8 daylight and 4 night vision settings. Holosun’s Solar Failsafe panel on top of the housing supplements the battery in good light. Power comes from a side-loading CR1620 cell rated for up to 100,000 hours, and because the tray is on the side, swapping batteries does not mean removing the optic and re-zeroing. Memory keeps your last settings.
Shake Awake and Controls
Shake Awake turns the sight off after a period without movement and brings it back the instant the pistol moves, so it is ready on the draw without draining the battery in the nightstand. Lockout Mode prevents accidental brightness or reticle changes from a bumped button, which matters in a holster or a range bag. Windage and elevation adjust 1 MOA per click with plus or minus 30 MOA of travel, enough for zeroing on most pistols.
Mounting and Fit
The optic uses Holosun’s AEMS-MICRO interface and ships with an adapter plate for RMSc-pattern slides, which covers many slim carry pistols cut for Shield RMSc or Holosun K-series sights. Central mount height is 0.63 inches. Confirm your pistol’s optic cut before ordering; slides cut for RMR, ACRO or DeltaPoint patterns will need a different plate. Check holster compatibility as well, since an enclosed sight is bulkier than most open micro dots.
Honest Trade-Offs
The AEMS Micro is larger than open micro dots such as the 507K, so it may print a little more under a light shirt. The rear lens is one more surface to keep clean, and its taller profile can make co-witnessing factory iron sights difficult; suppressor-height sights may be needed.
