Description
This FMK G3 (UPC 850979006301) pairs a Dark Earth polymer frame with a black optic-ready slide and a 4.5-inch threaded, polished stainless steel barrel. It is FMK’s newest compact 9mm, made in the USA, and this version comes with one 14-round magazine. Our store title lists 17 rounds, but FMK distributors list this model with a 14-round magazine.

FMK G3 9mm Dark Earth Threaded Overview
The G3 builds on the 9C1 G2 with several real improvements. The slide is milled to accept popular red dots directly, the slide stop is now metal instead of polymer, and the magazine well is beveled to guide fast reloads. The longer 4.5-inch barrel extends past the slide and is threaded for a compensator or suppressor. It keeps the rubberized backstrap that soaks up recoil, the accessory rail, and FMK’s 804 Elite Fast Action trigger with its short, light pull and positive reset.
Optic-Ready Without Plates
FMK cut the G3 slide so that Burris FastFire 3, Vortex Venom and Viper, and Trijicon RMR footprint optics mount directly, with no adapter plates. Direct mounting keeps the dot lower and reduces the screw stack that can loosen under recoil. The factory sights are Glock-compatible, but they are not tall enough to co-witness through most dots, so plan on suppressor-height sights if you want backup irons.

The Threaded Barrel
The 4.5-inch barrel is polished stainless steel, which looks sharp against the Dark Earth frame and resists corrosion. The threads let you add a compensator to reduce muzzle rise, at the cost of more noise and side blast. A suppressor is an NFA item that requires an approved ATF Form 4 and tax stamp, and suppressors are not legal in every state. Without a muzzle device, use a thread protector to guard the threads and crown.
Handling and Controls
The beveled magazine well and drop-free magazines make reloads smoother than on the older G2, and the metal slide stop will hold up better to years of use. The G3 has no magazine disconnect, so it can still fire with the magazine removed; always check the chamber when unloading. The Dark Earth frame color does not change holster fit, but the longer threaded barrel needs an open-bottom holster.

Ammunition and Reliability
Standard 115- and 124-grain range loads are the cheapest way to break in the pistol, and 9mm remains the most affordable centerfire handgun round. If you add a compensator, test lighter target loads, since comps generally run best with full-power ammunition. Choose a proven defensive hollow point and fire a few hundred rounds of it before trusting the pistol for protection. Spare magazines must be FMK-made.
Value and Holster Choices
The G3 lists for a little more than the G2 but still costs far less than most optic-ready, threaded-barrel pistols. FMK backs it with a lifetime warranty for the original owner. The honest limitations are a smaller holster selection, especially for optics and threaded barrels, and lower resale value than mainstream brands.
State Laws and Ownership
Threaded barrels on semi-automatic pistols are restricted in several states, including California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Massachusetts, and the 14-round magazine is over the limit in those states and in Washington and Hawaii. Distributors generally will not ship this model to them. Check local rules if you plan to add a suppressor. Pennsylvania residents can complete the transfer at our shop with a standard background check.

Before You Buy
Federal law requires handgun buyers to be at least 21 years old to purchase from a licensed dealer, and the transfer must go through an FFL with a background check. This pistol ships to your FFL, not to your home. Budget for a red dot, taller sights if you want co-witness, and an open-bottom holster that clears the threaded barrel.
Who It Is For
The FMK G3 9mm Dark Earth Threaded is a great fit for shooters who want an affordable optic-ready 9mm, owners planning to add a compensator or suppressor, and anyone who likes a Dark Earth frame with a polished barrel.
