DoubleTap 45 Colt 255gr Hardcast – Reliable .45 Colt Hardcast Ammo, 975 fps, 20 Rounds

Description

The DoubleTap 45 Colt 255gr Hardcast load is built for shooters who want more from their .45 Colt than typical factory ammunition delivers. DoubleTap loads a 255 grain Keith-style hardcast semi-wadcutter to a rated 975 feet per second, producing about 511 foot-pounds of energy from a 7.5 in barrel. This is a standard-pressure load that DoubleTap rates as safe for any .45 Colt revolver, including the Taurus Judge.

Why Choose the DoubleTap 45 Colt 255gr Hardcast

• 255 grain Keith-style hardcast semi-wadcutter
• Rated 975 fps and 511 ft-lbs from a 7.5 in barrel
• 900 fps from 5.5 in and 765 fps from 2.5 in barrels
• Standard pressure, safe for any .45 Colt revolver
• 20 rounds per box, item DT45CS255HC

Built for the Woods

• Deep, straight penetration from a hard-cast bullet that holds its shape
• Sharp shoulder cuts a clean hole in targets and game
• Works in single actions, double actions and the Taurus Judge
• Good choice for trail carry, woods protection and deer-sized game at close range

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance DoubleTap builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the DoubleTap 45 Colt 255gr Hardcast until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

Why Choose DoubleTap 45 Colt Ammo

Hunters and hikers who want 45 colt hardcast ammo appreciate a load that does not require a modern, heavy-framed revolver. DoubleTap keeps this round at standard pressure so it is safe in any .45 Colt revolver while still delivering 975 fps and about 511 ft-lbs from a 7.5 inch barrel.

The 45 colt 255 grain swc design is a classic for a reason. The Keith-style semi-wadcutter has a wide flat meplat and a sharp shoulder, so it drives deep and straight rather than expanding, which is exactly what you want for woods protection.

If you already shoot doubletap 45 colt ammo, this hardcast load gives you a dependable option for the trail, the ranch and close-range hunting without stepping up to +P pressures.

DoubleTap Ammunition is an American company known for loading popular calibers to their full potential, especially the 10mm Auto and other magnum handgun rounds. Doubletap 45 colt ammo is loaded with quality components and brass cases, and many shooters choose it when they want the performance a caliber was designed for rather than a reduced-power range load.

This ammunition is a good fit for owners of Colt Single Action Army style revolvers, Ruger Vaquero and Blackhawk revolvers, Smith and Wesson Model 25 revolvers and the Taurus Judge who want a dependable standard-pressure hardcast load. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .45 Colt, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
