Description
The CZ 75 D PCR Compact 9mm is the alloy framed, decocker equipped compact version of the CZ 75, and this one wears 50th Anniversary engraving on the slide. PCR stands for Police Czech Republic, which is exactly what the pistol was designed for.
CZ 75 D PCR Compact 9mm Frame, Slide and Barrel
The frame is aluminium alloy in a black polycoat finish, which is where most of the weight saving over a steel CZ 75 comes from. It carries a beavertail at the rear of the frame, so the web of your hand sits higher and closer to the bore without risking hammer bite.
The slide is steel with serrations for a positive grip and, on this version, 50th Anniversary engraving. The barrel is 3.75 inches, short enough to carry comfortably while still giving 9mm most of the velocity it would make from a full size pistol.
Action and Controls
The action is traditional double action and single action with a decocker rather than a manual safety. Press the lever and the hammer lowers safely onto a loaded chamber, ready for a long first pull. There is no safety to sweep off under pressure, which is the whole argument for a decocker pistol as a carry gun.
The CZ 75 lockwork underneath is the reason this pistol shoots the way it does. The slide rides inside the frame rails rather than outside them, which lowers the bore axis and gives the design its reputation for a flat, controllable recoil impulse.
The grips are black rubber, which fill the hand better than thin plastic panels and give a secure hold in wet conditions.

Why the PCR Has a Following
The PCR occupies a spot very few pistols do. It is small enough to carry, heavy enough in the hand to shoot well, and built on an action that competitive shooters have trusted for fifty years. Alloy rather than polymer means it feels like a machine rather than a moulding.
The decocker configuration is also increasingly rare. Most manufacturers have moved to striker fired designs with no external decocking, and shooters who prefer a hammer they can lower deliberately have fewer options every year.
Why Buyers Choose the CZ 75 D PCR Compact 9mm
The low bore axis is the technical answer. Because the slide runs inside the frame, the barrel sits closer to your hand than on almost any competing design, and the muzzle rises less for a given load.
The anniversary engraving is the other answer. It is a working pistol rather than a safe queen, but it marks fifty years of a design that has earned its reputation, and that matters to people who care about what they carry.
Who Should Buy It
The CZ 75 D PCR Compact 9mm suits concealed carriers who prefer a hammer and a decocker to a striker, CZ owners adding a compact to a collection, and shooters who want a metal framed carry pistol rather than another polymer one. It also suits anyone who shoots a full size CZ 75 and wants the same manual of arms in a smaller package.
