Description

The CVA Cascade Long Range Hunter 7mm PRC is CVA answer to the question of how much long range rifle you can buy without spending three thousand dollars. A Bergara made heavy contour barrel, a 20 MOA rail, an adjustable comb and a radial brake come standard, and the whole rifle is finished in Smoked Bronze Cerakote.
CVA Cascade Long Range Hunter 7mm PRC Barrel and Muzzle
The 24 in. barrel is a number 5 heavy contour made by Bergara, fluted to shed a little weight and add cooling surface. Heavy contour is the right call for a long range rifle, because a thick barrel holds its point of impact through a string in a way a thin one cannot.
Rifling is a 1:8 twist, which is exactly what 7mm PRC was designed around. The cartridge exists to run long, heavy, high ballistic coefficient bullets in the 175 to 195 grain range, and a slower twist would waste the point of it. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears a radial muzzle brake.
Stock, Rail and Trigger
The stock is where this rifle separates itself from the rest of its price bracket. It has a flat forend, which sits far more stably on a pack, a rock, a tripod or shooting sticks than a rounded hunting forend does, plus an adjustable cheek piece and removable length of pull spacers so it actually fits the shooter.
The receiver carries a 20 MOA Picatinny rail from the factory. That extra elevation built into the base is what lets an ordinary hunting scope reach past six hundred yards without running out of adjustment, and it is a feature usually reserved for rifles costing far more.
The trigger is a premium adjustable unit set between 2 and 4 lbs. by the owner, and the whole barrelled action is Cerakoted in Smoked Bronze.

What 7mm PRC Brings to This Rifle
7mm PRC was designed around modern bullets rather than having them squeezed into an old case shape. The throat and the twist are cut for long, heavy 7mm projectiles seated where they belong, which means better ballistic coefficients and noticeably less wind drift than 7mm Remington Magnum at similar velocity.
Wind, not drop, is what decides hits on game past four hundred yards, and that is where this cartridge earns its keep. Factory ammunition from Hornady, Federal and Nosler is widely stocked now, and a 24 inch barrel gives it enough room to perform.
Why Buyers Choose the CVA Cascade Long Range Hunter 7mm PRC
Bergara makes the barrel, and that matters. CVA and Bergara are sister companies under the same parent, so the barrel on this rifle comes off the same line as barrels fitted to rifles costing three times as much.
The rest of the specification is the part most makers skip at this price. An adjustable comb, a flat forend, LOP spacers, a 20 MOA rail, a brake and an adjustable trigger are all included, and every one of them is something a serious shooter would otherwise add later.
Who Should Buy It
The CVA Cascade Long Range Hunter 7mm PRC suits western hunters who take long shots, hunters moving up from a standard deer rifle who want real reach, and anyone building a capable long range rifle on a budget. Put the money you saved into a scope with reliable elevation travel and this rifle will surprise people.
