Description

The CMMG Dissent Mk47 7.62×39 combines AR-15 ergonomics with AK magazines, a buffer-tube-free compact action and a side folding stock. Folded it measures 27.6 inches with a 16.1 inch barrel, which is remarkable for a rifle of this length.
No Buffer Tube, So the Stock Folds
CMMG’s Dissent platform moves the bolt travel forward into the receiver and eliminates the buffer tube completely. That is the reason the stock can fold, and it is why a 16.1 inch barrelled rifle collapses to 27.6 inches for transport or storage.
Deployed, the stock adjusts for length of pull and comb height, extending the rifle to between 34 and 37 inches. That range of adjustment is unusual on an AR pattern rifle and genuinely useful for shooters wearing armour or heavy clothing.
CMMG Dissent Mk47 7.62×39 Feed and Controls
The Mk47 lower is billet machined specifically to take AK and AKM pattern magazines, and two Magpul 30 round AK PMAGs ship with the rifle. That means cheap, plentiful magazines and the cheapest centrefire rifle ammunition on the market.
The charging handle is a reversible non-reciprocating side charger, so you can clear the rifle without breaking your firing grip from either shoulder. The safety is CMMG’s ZEROED selector with a choice of 60 or 90 degree throw.
Barrel, Gas and Handguard
The barrel is 16.1 inches of 4140 chrome moly with a salt bath nitride finish and a 1:10 twist, threaded 5/8×24 with CMMG’s ZEROED muzzle brake fitted. Nitride hardens the bore as well as protecting the exterior, and it cannot chip the way a coating can.
Gas comes from an adjustable 0.750 inch block at the mid length position. On a 7.62×39 AR that adjustment is close to essential, because steel cased and brass cased ammunition produce noticeably different pressures. The 15 inch proprietary M-LOK handguard carries an integrated top Picatinny rail.

Ammunition and Range
Seven six two by thirty nine is one of the cheapest centrefire rifle cartridges available. A 123 grain soft point is a legitimate deer and hog load inside 200 yards, and full metal jacket practice ammunition costs a fraction of what .308 does. The 1:10 twist suits the standard bullet weights the cartridge is loaded with.
Why Buyers Choose the CMMG Dissent Mk47 7.62×39
The CMMG Dissent Mk47 7.62×39 is the only realistic way to get a folding stock, AR controls and AK magazines in one rifle. The buffer-tube-free action is what makes it possible, and the adjustable gas block is what makes it run on whatever ammunition you can find.
Who Should Buy It
Anyone who needs a rifle that stores or travels small, shooters who want cheap centrefire practice, and left handed shooters who benefit from a reversible side charger and ambidextrous safety.
Be realistic about the trade-offs. The proprietary handguard and receiver limit aftermarket options, 7.62×39 drops off quickly past 300 yards, and no optic or sights are included. At 7.7 pounds it is not the lightest rifle in its class.
