Description

The Christensen Summit TI 300 Win Mag Sporter is the classic hunting stock version of the Summit Ti. A titanium receiver, a carbon fiber wrapped 26 inch barrel and an aerograde carbon sporter stock hold the starting weight near 5.5 lbs. while the half MOA accuracy guarantee still applies.
Christensen Summit TI 300 Win Mag Sporter Barrel and Muzzle
The 26 in. barrel uses a 416R stainless core, hand lapped and then wrapped in aerospace grade carbon fiber. The wrap removes close to a pound against a bare steel barrel of the same profile and moves heat out of the steel more quickly, which keeps a magnum shooting straight past the first shot.
Barrel length earns its keep with 300 Winchester Magnum more than with almost any other common hunting round. The case holds a large charge of slow burning powder, and 26 inches gives it room to work, which is where the flat trajectory people buy this cartridge for comes from. Rifling is a 1:10 twist for the 180 to 215 grain bullets that suit it.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears a removable titanium radial brake. On a rifle this light the brake is doing real work, and a suppressor takes its place with no gunsmithing.
Titanium Action and Carbon Sporter Stock
The receiver is machined from Ti-6AL-4V titanium, trued in house and nitride treated, with an integral split Picatinny rail so nothing sits between your rings and the action. Titanium gives up roughly forty percent of the weight of steel at comparable strength and it does not corrode, which matters on a rifle carried through weather all season.
The sporter stock is the reason to pick this one over the thumbhole. It is a traditional hunting profile in aerograde carbon fiber, so it comes to the shoulder the way a wood stocked rifle does, works well from offhand and kneeling positions, and fits into a conventional scabbard or gun case without argument.

Living With a Light Magnum
A five and a half pound 300 Winchester Magnum is a deliberate trade and it is worth saying plainly. Recoil is sharper than it would be from a nine pound rifle, and the titanium brake does most of the work of making a range session bearable. Bring good hearing protection, because a braked magnum is louder than shooters expect.
What you get back is a rifle you will actually carry into the country this cartridge was made for. Most hunters fire a magnum a handful of times a season and carry it for weeks, and this rifle is designed around that reality rather than around a bench rest.
Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Summit TI 300 Win Mag Sporter
The list of rifles pairing a titanium action, a carbon wrapped barrel and a carbon stock with a half MOA guarantee is very short. Most light rifles achieve their weight with a pencil barrel and then string shots as it heats. This one does not, and the sporter stock keeps the handling familiar for hunters who never warmed to thumbhole grips.
Who Should Buy It
The Christensen Summit TI 300 Win Mag Sporter suits elk, moose and open country mule deer hunters who cover ground on foot, hunters heading somewhere wet where a steel barrel would rust, and anyone who has packed a ten pound magnum uphill and decided once was enough. Choose the thumbhole version instead if most of your shooting is from a pack or a tripod.
