Description
The Beretta 92XI in 9mm, part number SPEC0742A15, is the single action only 92 in Vegetato camouflage with an aluminium frame and fifteen plus one capacity. The barrel is 4.70 inches of DLC coated steel, the slide is stainless in camouflage Cerakote and cut for a micro red dot, and the frame carries a Picatinny rail. The 92XI drops the double action first shot entirely. There is no decocker and no long initial pull; the trigger is the same every time, which is the change 1911 shooters always said the 92 needed.
Note the frame material. The ten round version of this same finish uses a steel frame; this one is aluminium, so it is the lighter of the two by a noticeable margin.
Aluminium frame, and who that suits
A steel framed 92XI is the flatter shooting gun and the better competition choice. An aluminium framed one is the one you can carry, or shoot all afternoon without your wrists complaining.
The weight difference between the two is not subtle. If you have handled a 92X Performance and found it too much gun, this is the same trigger in something you will actually pick up.
Fifteen plus one rather than ten, so this is the full capacity build for states without a limit.
The barrel is DLC coated rather than plain black, which is a harder surface and easier to clean carbon off.
What single action only changes
A standard 92 gives you a long, heavy double action pull for the first shot and a short single action pull for everything after. Shooting both well takes real practice.
The 92XI gives you one trigger pull, every time, from the first round to the last. There is no transition to learn and no first shot that lands differently.
There is no decocker, so the gun carries cocked and locked with the safety on, the same way a 1911 does. Anyone coming from a 1911 will recognise the manual of arms immediately.
Anyone who specifically wants a double action first shot should buy a 92FS or a 92GTS instead.

Cartridge dimensions and pressures are standardized by SAAMI. For practice we stock 115 grain 9mm brass cased full metal jacket, and standard 92 pattern magazines fit the gun. Because there is no decocker, treat this like a 1911: the hammer stays back and the safety goes on, and you lower the hammer by hand on an empty chamber only.
The steel framed version of this same finish is the 10 round 92XI, shooters who want a double action first shot should compare the 92GTS, and the competition builds are the 92X Performance Carry Optic in red and yellow. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
Why it is worth considering
- One trigger pull from the first round to the last.
- An aluminium frame, so it is the 92XI you can actually carry.
- Fifteen plus one rather than ten.
- A factory optic cut on an MRDS footprint.
- A DLC coated barrel, which is harder and easier to clean than plain black.
Who it suits
This suits a shooter who wants the single action 92 without the weight of the steel framed guns, and anyone coming to Beretta from a 1911. Competitors who want the flattest shooting version should buy the steel framed build instead. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
