Description
The Beretta 92FS Inox in 9mm, part number JS92F510, is the stainless full size 92 in its ten round configuration. The barrel is 4.90 inches of satin steel, the slide is satin stainless with serrations, the frame is satin anodised aluminium, and the grips are black stippled rubber. Ten plus one rather than fifteen is the configuration for shooters in states that cap magazine capacity, and for anyone who simply prefers to buy the gun that way. Nothing else about it is reduced.
This is the same open slide, falling locking block design Beretta has built since 1975, and the same design that served as the United States military sidearm for three decades.
Why Inox rather than blued
Satin stainless is not a cosmetic upgrade. It is the version to buy if the gun will live somewhere humid, spend time in a vehicle, or be handled a great deal by someone whose hands sweat.
A blued 92 will rust if you neglect it. This one will forgive a great deal more neglect, which matters on a gun that gets picked up and put down rather than locked away.
The satin finish also hides handling marks better than a high polish or a flat black, so the gun keeps looking presentable without effort.
The tradeoff is glare in bright sun, which is why the sights and the grips stay black.
What the Beretta 92FS Inox gives you
The top of the slide is cut away entirely rather than having a conventional ejection port, so a spent case has nowhere to catch and a fresh round has a clear path into the chamber.
The locking block falls rather than the barrel tilting, so the barrel stays level through the cycle. That is a large part of why the 92 shoots as flat as it does.
A 4.90 inch barrel and the long sight radius that comes with it flatter most shooters, and the weight settles the muzzle between shots.
Ambidextrous safety and decocker and a reversible magazine release, so left handed shooters are not an afterthought.

Cartridge dimensions and pressures are standardized by SAAMI. For practice we stock 115 grain 9mm brass cased full metal jacket, which is the load most 92s are happiest on. Ten round and full capacity 92 magazines share the same body, so anything you buy for this gun will still fit if your circumstances change. Buyers who want fifteen rounds should compare the 92FS Inox 15 round, the heavy slide stainless gun is the Brigadier Inox, and the blued guns are the 92FS 15 round and 92FS 10 round.
Check your own state and local rules before ordering, since capacity limits vary and we cannot advise on them. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
Why it is worth considering
- Satin stainless, for a gun that will see sweat, humidity or a vehicle.
- An open slide design with very little for a case or a cartridge to catch on.
- A 4.90 inch barrel and a long sight radius, which flatters most shooters.
- Ambidextrous safety and decocker, and a reversible magazine release.
- Ten plus one, which keeps the gun workable where capacity is capped.
Who it suits
This suits a shooter who wants a full sized service pistol to keep rather than to carry, prefers stainless to blued, and either needs a ten round gun or does not care about the difference. It is too large and too heavy for concealment, and the grip is wide, so handle one first if your hands are small. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
