Barnes VOR-TX 375 H and H 300gr TSX FB Overview

This is the soft you carry for plains game and load ahead of solids for buffalo. The projectile is machined from solid copper, so under a close range impact on heavy bone there is no lead core to separate and no jacket to strip away.

The hollow nose peels back into four sharp copper petals at roughly double the original diameter and stays attached to the shank. Weight retention holds close to 100 percent, which is what lets the bullet open wide and still drive on through to the far side.

300 Grain TSX Flat Base Performance

A flat base is the right design here. Dangerous game shots are measured in tens of yards rather than hundreds, and a flat base loads concentrically and feeds cleanly from a controlled round feed magazine.

Barnes machines relief grooves into the bearing surface of the projectile. With this much copper bearing on the rifling those grooves matter, lowering pressure and cutting the fouling a long solid bullet would otherwise leave behind.

Why Hunters Choose 375 H and H Magnum Ammo

The 375 H and H is the most useful big bore cartridge in the world. It meets the minimum calibre requirement for dangerous game in most African jurisdictions, it is mild enough that a practised shooter can use it on plains game without flinching, and it has taken everything from impala to elephant for over a century.

What this 375 H and H Magnum ammo brings is a modern projectile in that proven case. A copper bullet that expands wide and keeps every grain of its weight is exactly what a cartridge asked to do this many different jobs needs.

Recoil is real but manageable. A rifle in the nine to ten pound class with a well fitted stock makes practice ordinary, and practice from field positions matters far more than bench groups.

Range Notes For This All Copper Dangerous Game Bullet

Zero with the exact load you intend to hunt. Many hunters running a dangerous game rifle load softs first and solids behind them, and the two will not necessarily share a point of impact, so confirm both if you plan to mix them in one magazine.

Feed test the full magazine before you travel. A flat nose copper bullet has a different profile than the round nose ammunition some older controlled round feed actions were regulated with, and a feeding fault is not something to discover in front of a buffalo.

At 2540 fps the Barnes VOR-TX 375 H and H 300gr TSX expands reliably at every distance this cartridge is realistically used. Store the ammunition cool and dry, and inspect it after a long flight in a hold.
