The Barnes VOR-TX 30-06 Sprg 168gr TTSX BT is the middle weight of the three Barnes copper loads for the 30-06, and on the numbers it is the best balanced of them. It leaves the muzzle at roughly 2850 fps carrying about 3031 ft-lbs, behind a 0.470 ballistic coefficient. That BC is the highest of the three standard weights, which means it holds velocity and resists wind better than either the 150 or the 180. Each box holds 20 rounds.

The projectile is machined from a solid copper billet, so there is no lead core to shed and no jacket to separate. A polymer tip caps the hollow nose, protects it in the magazine and drives rearward on impact to start expansion immediately.

The nose opens into four sharp copper petals at roughly double the original diameter and stays attached to the shank, with weight retention close to 100 percent. On a 30 caliber bullet at this weight that produces a wide wound channel and a reliable exit.
