Description
The Arsenal SAM7SF-84E Plum is the same Bulgarian-built milled-receiver Kalashnikov as the standard SAM7SF-84E, dressed in the plum polymer furniture that collectors and shooters have associated with Bulgarian AK production for decades. The colour is not a coating; it is the polymer itself, which means it will not wear off the grip edges or fade at the handguard where a hand rests. Underneath, the Arsenal SAM7SF-84E Plum is unchanged: a hot-die hammer-forged and CNC-milled receiver, a cold hammer-forged 16.3 inch barrel with a hard-chrome bore, and the enhanced fire control group.
What the Milled Receiver Buys You
The receiver, bolt, bolt carrier and enhanced fire control group all begin as hot-die hammer forgings, and the receiver is then CNC milled to final dimension. Because the front and rear trunnions are part of that forging rather than riveted into stamped sheet steel, there is no rivet to work loose and no receiver flex under recoil. The scope rail is machined directly into the receiver wall for the same reason.
That construction costs weight compared with a stamped AK, and it returns a rifle that tracks better between shots, holds an optic zero through repeated mount removal, and keeps its accuracy across a service life measured in tens of thousands of rounds.

Bear in mind that 922(r) compliance depends on the count of imported parts fitted, so check before swapping furniture or magazines for foreign-made components.
Why it is worth considering
- Plum polymer furniture with the colour through the material, not applied on top
- Hot-die hammer-forged and CNC-milled receiver rather than stamped sheet steel
- Cold hammer-forged 16.3 inch barrel with hard-chrome bore and chamber
- Enhanced fire control group that removes the classic AK trigger slap
- Right-side folding stock that can be fired folded
- Ambidextrous safety lever fitted from the factory
Who it suits
The Arsenal SAM7SF-84E Plum suits the buyer who wants the mechanical substance of a milled Bulgarian AK and also cares what the rifle looks like in the safe. Mechanically it is identical to the black-furniture version, so the choice between them is purely aesthetic, which means it comes down to whether the plum furniture is what you have always wanted on a Kalashnikov.
Ammunition and Optics for the Arsenal SAM7SF-84E Plum
7.62×39 remains one of the least expensive centerfire rifle cartridges to feed, and the hard-chrome bore handles steel-case ammunition without complaint. Brass-case loads around 123 grains will deliver the tightest groups from the standard AK twist rate, while bulk steel-case practice ammunition is entirely suitable for volume range work. Brush the bore after any corrosive surplus and the barrel will outlast its owner. Full model specifications are published by the manufacturer at Arsenal Inc.
For optics, the machined side rail accepts standard Warsaw-pattern quick-detach mounts. Because the rail is part of the receiver forging rather than attached to the dust cover, a red dot or low-power variable holds zero through cleaning cycles and through folding the stock.
