Description
The Arsenal SAM7SF is what a Kalashnikov looks like when the receiver is forged from a single billet, milled to shape on CNC machinery, and then fitted with a folding stock that does not wobble. This is the SAM7SF-86 configuration in 7.62x39mm: a 16.33 inch hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel, a right-side folding tubular buttstock, the FIME enhanced fire control group, and a package that ships with a 30-round M-47W magazine, a 10-round magazine, an SM-13 scope mount and an Arsenal custom hard case. It is a complete rifle rather than a starting point.
Why the Milled Receiver Changes the Rifle
Most AK rifles sold in the United States are built on stamped sheet-steel receivers. They work, and they are light, but the receiver flexes under recoil and the rivets holding the trunnions can loosen over a long service life. The Arsenal SAM7SF uses a hot-die hammer-forged receiver that is then CNC milled, which removes flex from the equation. The trunnions are integral to the forging rather than riveted in, the side rail is machined into the receiver wall, and the added mass sits low and central where it does the most good for recoil recovery.
The practical result is a rifle that returns to the same point of aim shot after shot, and an optic mount that holds zero through repeated removal because the rail it clamps to is part of the receiver itself rather than a bolted-on accessory.

This is a package configuration. Along with the rifle you receive a 30-round M-47W magazine, a 10-round magazine, an SM-13 side-rail scope mount, a sling, an oil bottle, a sectional cleaning rod and cleaning kit, and the Arsenal custom hard case. The case interior is CNC-machined hard foam cut specifically for the SAM7SF series, with dedicated cutouts for the magazines, sling, cleaning kit and oil bottle. Aluminum-reinforced corners and edges handle impact, and the combination locks are integral to the shell.
Why it is worth considering
- Forged and CNC-milled receiver rather than stamped sheet steel
- Chrome-lined, hammer-forged 16.33 inch barrel built for a long service life
- Right-side folding stock that shortens the rifle by nearly ten inches
- FIME enhanced trigger group that eliminates the classic AK trigger slap
- Receiver-mounted scope rail, so a mounted optic holds zero through disassembly
- Ships complete with hard case, two magazines, SM-13 mount, sling and cleaning kit
Who it suits
The Arsenal SAM7SF suits the shooter who has owned two or three stamped AKs and grown tired of loose handguards, shifting zero and sloppy magazine fit. It is a heavier rifle to carry all day and a steadier one to shoot, and most buyers decide that trade is worth making. It also suits anyone who needs a rifle that travels: folded, cased and locked, the SAM7SF-86 takes up considerably less room than a fixed-stock rifle of the same barrel length.

Ammunition, Magazines and Transfer Details
The 7.62×39 cartridge is among the least expensive centerfire rifle rounds to shoot, and the chrome-lined bore of the Arsenal SAM7SF tolerates steel-case ammunition far better than a sporting barrel would. Brass-case loads such as a 123-grain soft point will give the best accuracy from the 1:9.44 twist, while bulk steel-case practice ammunition is perfectly workable for volume shooting. Whichever you choose, run a brush through the bore after corrosive surplus. Technical specifications and the current model lineup are published by the manufacturer at Arsenal Inc.
Magazines are the usual AK question. The rifle ships with both a 30-round M-47W and a 10-round magazine so it can be configured for states that restrict capacity. Note that 922(r) compliance depends on the parts fitted, so count before swapping furniture or magazines for imported components.
