Description
The Arex Delta X Optic Ready is the full-size Delta without the threaded barrel, which makes it the straightforward choice for anyone who wants a duty-sized 9mm and a red dot but has no plans for a muzzle device. The 4-inch barrel sits under a black slide, the frame is flat dark earth polymer, and two magazines come in the box.
Full Size, Optic Ready
4-inch barrel with a plain muzzle, so every standard holster for the model fits without extra clearance.
Optic-ready slide cut from the factory with adapter plates supplied for the common red dot footprints.
The Arex Delta X Optic Ready pairs a black slide with a flat dark earth polymer frame.
Accessory rail on the dust cover for a weapon light or laser.
Capacity, Controls and Frame
One 17-round magazine and one 17+2 extended magazine supplied, giving 17+1 in standard configuration.
Ambidextrous magazine release and slide stop.
Interchangeable backstraps, so grip circumference adjusts to the hand.
Serialized trigger assembly rather than a serialized frame.
Striker-fired action.

There is a real argument for the plain-muzzle version over the Tactical. A threaded barrel adds length past the slide that many holsters will not clear, and the thread protector is one more part to keep track of. If a suppressor or compensator is not in your plans, the Optic Ready gives you the same frame, the same optic cut and the same adapter plates for less money and in a package that fits standard holsters.
Why it is worth considering
- Optic cut and adapter plates included from the factory.
- Two magazines, one of them extended to 19 rounds.
- Ambidextrous controls and interchangeable backstraps.
- Plain muzzle fits standard holsters with no extra clearance.
- Serialized trigger assembly rather than a serialized frame.
Who it suits
Home defense buyers and range shooters who want a full-size 9mm ready for a red dot will be well served here, and the two-magazine loadout means less to buy on day one. If a compensator or suppressor is in your future, the Tactical version with the threaded barrel is the better starting point.

Choosing Within the Delta Range
Arex builds the Delta in M, X and L sizes, each available plain-muzzle like this one or in the Tactical configuration with a threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights. The X Tactical in the same finish adds those threads, and the M Tactical is the compact version. Browse the wider handgun catalog to compare. Arex pistols are imported by Global Ordnance.
For practice, 115-grain full metal jacket is the standard load, with a 124-grain jacketed hollow point for defensive use. Spare 17-round magazines fit both the X and the L.
One note on optic plates: which one you need depends on your red dot footprint, and the set supplied covers the common patterns. Because the cut is done at the factory to a known depth, mounting is a matter of choosing the right plate rather than measuring and shimming. All firearm orders ship to a licensed FFL dealer for transfer, and MAG5 Firearms will coordinate the paperwork with the dealer of your choice.
A word on the serialized trigger assembly: because the serial number lives on the trigger group rather than the polymer frame, the grip module itself is an unregulated part. That means a worn or cracked grip can be replaced without a transfer, and it opens the door to different frame sizes and colors down the road. It is the same idea behind the SIG P320 chassis, applied to a considerably less expensive pistol.
