Description

The Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Romulus is a double stack 9mm 1911 with a 3.5-inch compensated bull barrel, a full DLC black finish and an MOS optic system that ships with adapter plates. It is a compact competition-flavoured build that still runs seventeen and twenty round magazines. Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Romulus 9mm pistol with compensated 3.5 inch threaded barrel and DLC black finish

A Compensated 1911 That Stays Compact

Shortening a 1911 usually costs you controllability, because less slide mass means more muzzle flip. The Romulus answers that with an integral compensator on a 3.5-inch bull barrel, redirecting gas upward to hold the muzzle down. The result is that the Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Romulus tracks flatter than its barrel length suggests, which is the entire reason to build a comped compact.

SUS416 Stainless Throughout

Frame, slide and barrel are all machined from SUS416 stainless steel and finished in DLC black. Diamond-like carbon is harder and slicker than nitride or Cerakote, so the wear surfaces stay smooth and the finish resists holster abrasion. An all-steel build also adds mass exactly where it helps, which is another reason recoil feels mild for a short 9mm.

MOS Optic System With Plates Included

The slide is cut for Alpha Foxtrot’s MOS system and ships with adapter plates for both RMSC and RMR footprints. That covers the overwhelming majority of pistol optics on the market without a separate purchase. Front and rear slide serrations give a solid grip, and the top of the slide is serrated to cut glare under a dot.

Threaded Bull Barrel

The 3.5-inch barrel is a ramped bull profile with a 1:10 twist, and it is threaded behind the compensator. That leaves the option of removing the comp and running a suppressor instead. Bull barrels also eliminate the barrel bushing, which simplifies takedown and generally improves lockup consistency.

Polymer Grip Module With Integrated Magwell

The grip module is textured polymer with a magwell built in rather than bolted on. It funnels reloads without adding the length a separate magwell would. Controls are fully ambidextrous including the thumb safety, so left-handed shooters are not an afterthought.

Two Magazines Included

The Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Romulus ships with both a seventeen-round and a twenty-round magazine. Double stack 1911 magazines are expensive, so having two in the box is a meaningful part of the value. The trigger breaks at roughly three and a half to four pounds with the short, crisp reset the platform is known for.

Who Should Buy It

This suits the shooter who wants 1911 ergonomics and trigger feel with modern capacity and a red dot, in a size that still conceals. Competition shooters in carry-optics-adjacent divisions will find plenty to like too.

The Alpha Foxtrot AF1911 Romulus is a compensated pistol, so it is louder and throws more gas and flash than a plain barrel, which matters in low light and indoors. All-steel construction also makes it heavy for its size.

Anyone wanting a light carry pistol should look at a polymer micro-compact, and shooters who never intend to mount an optic will find better value elsewhere in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
