Description

A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps are orange aluminum dry fire trainers built for striker-fired pistols, two to a pack. They solve a specific annoyance: an ordinary snap cap gets flung across the room every time you rack the slide, and a StrikerCap does not.
What Makes A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps Different
The difference is an O-ring around the body. That ring grips the chamber walls, so when you cycle the slide to reset a striker-fired trigger the cap stays put instead of ejecting. You rack, press, rack, press, and never stop to pick anything up off the carpet.
Underneath that they are conventional A-Zoom construction: precision machined aluminum with a cushioned primer face that absorbs the firing pin strike rather than letting it hammer the breech face. The whole round is one piece with nothing to come apart in the chamber.
The bright training orange is deliberate. A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps are not going to be mistaken for a live round by anyone, which is exactly the property you want in something that lives in a chamber during practice.
Why Striker-Fired Pistols Need This
A hammer-fired pistol can often be reset with a thumb. A striker-fired one cannot: the trigger only resets when the slide moves, which means every single dry fire repetition ends with racking the slide. With a normal snap cap, that also means retrieving the snap cap.
Over a hundred repetitions that is a hundred interruptions, and interruptions are what kill dry fire routines. Keeping A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps in the chamber turns a stop-start exercise into a continuous one, which is the actual reason people stick with the practice.
There is a safety benefit too. A chamber that always has an obviously orange object in it during practice is a chamber nobody has to guess about, and the discipline of putting the StrikerCap back before every session is a useful ritual in its own right.

Field Notes
They are a training tool rather than a magazine filler. Because the O-ring holds them in the chamber, A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps are not the right choice for magazine feeding tests, where you want a round that ejects normally.
Pair them accordingly. Most people keep a pack of StrikerCaps for trigger work and a pack of conventional snap caps for feeding and extraction checks, since the two jobs want opposite behaviour.
The O-ring and the primer cushion are both wear items. Replace a cap when the ring no longer holds it in the chamber or the primer face stops rebounding.
Running other calibers? StrikerCaps are stocked in 40 S&W and 45 ACP, and conventional 9mm Luger snap caps are available for feeding tests. Construction details are published by A-Zoom.
For anyone doing serious dry fire with a striker-fired 9mm, A-Zoom 9mm StrikerCaps remove the single most irritating part of the routine. MAG5 Firearms stocks them as manufacturer item PA17102 in the two pack.
