Description

A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps are orange aluminum dry fire trainers built for striker-fired pistols, two to a pack. They solve one specific problem: a conventional snap cap gets ejected every time you rack the slide, and a StrikerCap stays in the chamber.
What Makes A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps Different
The difference is an O-ring around the body. That ring grips the chamber walls, so cycling the slide to reset a striker-fired trigger does not throw the cap across the room. You rack, press, rack, press, and never break rhythm to go find it.
Underneath that they are standard A-Zoom construction: precision machined aluminum with a cushioned primer face that absorbs the firing pin strike instead of letting it hammer the breech face. One piece, with nothing to separate in the chamber.
The bright training orange is deliberate. A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps will not be mistaken for a live round by anyone, which is exactly the property you want in an object that lives in a chamber during practice.
Why Striker-Fired Pistols Need This
A hammer-fired 45 can often be reset with a thumb on the hammer. A striker-fired one cannot: the trigger only resets when the slide moves, so every repetition ends with racking the slide. With an ordinary snap cap, that also means retrieving the snap cap.
Across a hundred repetitions that is a hundred interruptions, and interruptions are what kill dry fire routines. Keeping A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps chambered turns a stop-start exercise into a continuous one, which is the reason people stay with the practice.
There is a safety benefit as well. A chamber that always holds an obviously orange object during practice is a chamber nobody has to guess about, and seating the StrikerCap before every session is a useful ritual in its own right.

Field Notes
They are a trigger training tool rather than a magazine filler. Because the O-ring holds them in the chamber, A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps are the wrong choice for feeding and extraction tests, where you want a round that ejects cleanly.
Most serious dry fire practitioners keep both types. StrikerCaps for trigger work and conventional snap caps for magazine and extractor checks covers two jobs that want opposite behaviour from a dummy round.
The O-ring and the primer cushion are both wear items. Replace a cap when the ring no longer holds it in the chamber or the primer face stops rebounding.
Running other calibers? StrikerCaps are stocked in 9mm and 40 S&W, and conventional 45 ACP snap caps are available for feeding tests. Construction details are published by A-Zoom.
For anyone doing serious dry fire with a striker-fired 45, A-Zoom 45 ACP StrikerCaps take the friction out of the routine. MAG5 Firearms stocks them as manufacturer item PA17104 in the two pack.
