Description
The Mossberg 835 Ulti Mag Waterfowl 12 Ga is a shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 28-inch barrel and a 5+1 capacity. It comes with a mossy oak – shadow grass blades barrel finish, a synthetic (mossy oak shadow grass blades) stock and front fiber optic sights.
Mossberg 835 Ulti Mag Waterfowl 12 Ga Overview
The 835 Ulti-Mag is Mossberg’s 12-gauge pump built to handle 3.5-inch magnum shells, along with 3-inch and 2.75-inch loads. It is a favorite with waterfowl and turkey hunters who want maximum payload.
Design and Features
The overbored barrel improves patterns and reduces felt recoil, and the dual extractors and twin action bars keep the action running smoothly. This configuration has a mossy oak – shadow grass blades barrel finish, a synthetic (mossy oak shadow grass blades) stock, front fiber optic sights, and Accu-Mag Set chokes.
Handling in the Field
3.5-inch magnums kick hard, so a good recoil pad and proper shooting form matter. Lighter loads make the 835 a capable all-around shotgun as well.
Action and Trigger
The ambidextrous tang safety is easy to reach with gloves on, and the action release sits behind the trigger guard.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 12 Gauge Cartridge
The 12 gauge is the most popular shotgun gauge in America, with the widest selection of loads for clays, upland birds, waterfowl, turkey, deer slugs, and home-defense buckshot.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
Product Notes
Shotguns are only as good as the load and choke you pair them with. Birdshot in the 7.5 to 9 range is right for clays and small upland birds, heavier shot sizes for pheasant and waterfowl, and buckshot or slugs for deer and home defense. Pattern the gun on paper at the distance you expect to shoot, and check that your shells match the chamber length stamped on the barrel.

Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
