Description

The Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm is the X-series answer to the question of what a carry P320 should be: a full-length grip that gives every finger somewhere to go, a 3.9-inch slide that clears a holster quickly, and the X-series trigger and sights fitted from the factory rather than bought afterwards. At 26.5 ounces it is light enough to wear all day. UPC 798681720019.

What the X-Series Changes

The trigger on the Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm is the headline. The X straight trigger has a flat face and breaks at 90 degrees to the bore, which sounds like marketing until you shoot it: a straight face means your finger contacts the same spot every time regardless of hand size, and a perpendicular break stops the trigger pulling the muzzle down as it goes. Against a standard curved P320 trigger the difference is immediate.

The grip module is the second change. The X-Carry module runs a higher beavertail and more aggressive texture than a standard carry module, and it fills the hand properly rather than leaving the little finger hanging. On a Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm that combination keeps the 17-round magazine inside a grip you can still conceal.

Sights on the Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm are XRAY3 night sights: a tritium front inside a high-contrast ring that reads fast in daylight and glows unaided in a dark room, with a removable rear plate covering the optics cut. Tritium keeps working where fibre optic goes black, and the vials last ten to twelve years.

Carrying It

Numbers first: 7.4 inches overall, 5.5 inches tall, 1.3 inches wide and 26.5 ounces with a 5.8-inch sight radius. That is narrower than most double-stack carry guns and light enough that a decent belt handles it without complaint. The Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm sits in the same size class as a Glock 19 while carrying two more rounds.

The optics ready slide cut on the Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm sits under the rear sight plate. Pull the plate and a ROMEO1PRO or DeltaPoint Pro footprint sight mounts directly to the slide, no milling and no gunsmith. Leaving the plate on keeps the slide sealed and the rear sight usable, which is the right default for a pistol that may carry for years before it gets a dot.

As a modular carry pistol it keeps the P320 advantage: the serialized part is the fire control unit inside the grip, so the module is a component. The same registered chassis can become a compact or a full-size gun later without another background check, and the aftermarket for P320 parts is the deepest of any modern handgun.

Honest Caveats Before You Buy

The grip is what makes it shoot well and what makes it harder to hide. A full-length X-Carry module prints at the belt line more readily than a chopped grip does, and grip is the part of a pistol that gives concealment away first. If deep concealment matters more to you than capacity, a P365 or a compact module is the better answer than a Sig Sauer P320 XCarry 9mm.

Seventeen-round magazines are restricted in several states, so check before ordering. Pennsylvania has no cap, so both magazines in the box are usable here, but check before transferring elsewhere.

On the platform: SIG ran a Voluntary Upgrade Program for the P320 in 2017 addressing drop safety, and current production ships with the updated trigger group. A new pistol from a dealer already has it; only confirm upgrade status when buying used privately.

Two last things. The optics cut takes the ROMEO1PRO and DeltaPoint Pro footprint, so an RMR or Holosun K pattern dot needs an adapter plate that raises the sight and spoils the co-witness with the XRAY3 irons. And holsters: buy one cut for an optic even if you are not mounting a dot yet, because replacing a holster later costs more than choosing the right one now.

Who it suits: shooters who want duty capacity in a carry-size pistol, buyers who value the X-series trigger and night sights fitted from the factory rather than added later, and anyone who wants the option of a red dot without paying a gunsmith.
