Description

Fifteen rounds in a 3.9-inch pistol is the reason the P320 compact is one of the most common carry guns in the country. The Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round is the standard-capacity build, with the optics cut milled at the factory and tritium sights fitted underneath. It is also the configuration most buyers outside restricted states should be looking at. Part 320C-9-BSSP, UPC 798681697441.

Capacity in a Carry-Size Frame

The compact grip module holds fifteen rounds while staying short enough not to print below a cover garment, which is the specific problem this size of pistol exists to solve. Against a full-size P320 you lose a little sight radius and about an inch of grip; against a subcompact you gain five or six rounds and a full firing grip. The Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round sits at the point most people actually want.

Magazines are shared across the P320 range, so a Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round is easy to feed. Full-size 17-round magazines work in the compact grip with the base pad protruding, which makes a sensible arrangement for a spare on the belt: carry the flush 15 on board and a longer one in reserve.

The barrel is 3.9 inches of carbon steel with a DLC coating under a black Nitron slide. The grip module is medium compact with an accessory rail, and takedown is the three-point system that needs no tools and, importantly, no trigger press.

Modularity, Optics and Sights

The serialized part of this pistol is a modular fire control unit, a small stainless chassis that lifts out of the polymer grip. That is why the P320 has the deepest parts ecosystem of any modern handgun: grip modules in several sizes and textures, slides in three lengths, triggers and barrels from a dozen makers, all fitting the same registered component. A Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round bought today can be a full-size range gun or a subcompact carry gun later without another background check.

The Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round has a P320 optic ready slide using SIG’s PRO footprint, shared with the ROMEO series, so a dot mounts directly to the slide. No milling, no gunsmith, no broken Nitron finish. Optics using other footprints need an adapter plate, which works but raises the sight.

SIGLITE front and rear night sights are fitted to the Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round as standard. Tritium glows on its own rather than needing to gather ambient light the way fibre optic does, and it keeps glowing for the ten to twelve year life of the vials, so the irons remain a genuine backup if an optic battery dies.

Honest Caveats Before You Buy

Check your state before ordering. Fifteen-round magazines are restricted in several states, and if you live in one of them the ten-round build of this same pistol is what you need instead. Pennsylvania has no capacity cap, so the Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round is the right choice here.

On the platform: SIG ran a Voluntary Upgrade Program for the P320 in 2017 that addressed drop safety, and current production ships with that updated trigger group. A new pistol from a dealer already has it. Confirm the upgrade status only if you are buying a used example from a private seller.

Optic footprint is the most common ordering mistake. The PRO cut is not an RMR pattern and not a Holosun K pattern. Confirm what your chosen dot needs before you buy it, because an adapter plate adds height and spoils the co-witness with the SIGLITE irons on the Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round.

And a note on the Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round trigger. The stock P320 trigger is serviceable rather than special, with a slightly spongy break compared with the better aftermarket units. Most owners live with it happily; some replace it within a year. Factor that in if you are coming from a tuned trigger on another pistol.

Who it suits: buyers who want full carry capacity without a full-size frame, shooters who want a factory optics cut and night sights at a sensible price, and anyone who values being able to reconfigure the pistol later without buying another firearm. The Sig Sauer P320 Compact 15 Round is the default choice in the P320 range for good reason.
